(I exchanged the C-x shortcut with C-t because the former is very common but a pain to type in #Dvorak. Other than that, I think I'm mostly good to go!)
Today in Labor History February 12, 1889: Antonín Dvořák's Jakobín premiered at the National Theater in Prague. The three-act opera was one of Dvořák's peasant operas. Marie Červinková-Riegrová wrote the libretto, based on the story "At the Ducal Court," by Alois Jirásek. In the story, the Count disowns his son, Bohuš, for his alleged ties with the French Revolutionaries known as Jacobins.
I’ve just optimized #QwertyLafayette a bit and it’s ranked number one on #KLAnext, hands down ! My layout has just been recognized as the best in the world by the most famous keyboard layout analyzer ever ! Waaaayyy above #Colemak, #Dvorak, #MTGAP, #Sturdy and all others.
@abcdw Thank you, thank you and thank YOU! For this GUIX relative noob, you've relieved a great deal of pain, especially around non-free firmware.
And...#Dvorak too! (Learning that right now.)
My wife is proofreading a document I wrote on my laptop and wants to make minor changes here and there. The problem is that I type on a #Dvorak keyboard despite all the keycaps being QWERTY.
"I want to change 'need' to 'needed', how do I type 'ed'?"
"Uhh try D and maybe G, H or J"
"I need a comma"
"That's E, no wait it's W"
"I need to capitalize this A"
"Hey I know this one, it's A!"
This went on for far too long before I had the bright idea to change the keyboard back to QWERTY for her.
I've been doing more and more research. I might get one. No idea which yet. One thing I am sure of though is that I will use #qwerty . #dvorak and stuff might be better, but if I switch my brain to that, I will struggle to use any other computer because everyone uses qwerty. Even #vim motions are qwerty based, though I'm sure people have made configurations to make it work
Are there splt-/ergo-specific typing tutor websites? Or it's just a matter to play with QWERTY and any type of tutor website?
I'm wondering how #Colemak or #Dvorak people learn touch-typing. #MechanicalKeyboard

I'm trying to write a #bash script/function to convert qwerty-typed text into #colemak so I can play with it without actually converting.
It's working great, but won't pass newlines no matter what I try.
Any ideas?
