"You should expect to hear more from leaders about standards of behavior and discourse in the workplace." (From Chris Rackow's chilling email to Google workers yesterday telling us we'd better shut up if we want to keep our jobs)
I sure expect a lot of things from Google's leaders, Chris. Like legitimate engagement and dialog about a serious concern of hundreds of workers. And I'm disappointed almost every time.
Google's illegal retaliation continues with a mass firing of over two dozen workers involved in the #NoTechForApartheid movement, including those with no direct involvements in yesterday's action. This is why we need #unions in tech, people.
Give a million average people $600 and they will spend it all in the economy. If a million people give $600 to a billionaire, he has another $600 million to sit on.
This is why we have inflation. When we create wealth it eventually gets hoarded instead of recirculated, devaluing our currency.
If we tax excess wealth and support workers by legislating better wages, and bust monopolies instead of unions, that would fight inflation. Return the money to the people.
Ever notice how forgiving loans is suddenly a big problem when students get much-needed relief, but nobody blinks an eye when the richest 20% of American households get their PPP loans forgiven? Or when corporations are handed billions in subsidies?
