Five minutes mucking with search terms looking for a specific PowerDNS Web UI thing, suffering the lousiness that Google’s search has become, and then I recall the name, type that in, and the second hit is … drumroll … a short blog post of mine about precisely that program.

Au repos, mon AMD Ryzen 7 5800H en mode "powersave" chauffe moins que le CPU de mon RaspberryPi 3B.

SSD carrier board that supports 21 M.2 NVMe SSDs with a PCIe switch that supports 100 lanes.

LTT: How is it showing 4 lanes per drive?!?

Me: 21 drives, each x4 totals 84 lines.

84 lanes plus the 16 lane "uplink" to the host equals...

100 lanes.

Also... that's also how, I don't know, Ethernet switches work.

After setting everything up with the new pc, I’ve been battling frame drops in obs. Thought I’d tried everything with minimal results. Drove me crazy.

Reset the modem and router last night, 20 minutes of Forza Horizon 5 test streams at ultra setting at 12,500 bitrate, zero dropped frames.

Check the simple things. It might just be a coincidence!

"This [Brax.Me] software has been released with a GPLv3 license. This is free software."

Great!

"The enterprise version however has additional features that are isolated and operate independently from the base feature set including Live Streaming, Audio broadcasting, SocialVision, Websites, SecureNet, e-Commerce Stores, Forms management, staff management, Industry specific features and more. That version is not open source."

Oh.

So, what in the name of the FSP is THIS?!?

$found_items = get_items_from_db();

$json = json_encode($found_items);
$x = json_decode($json);

Why would one even DO that?!?

My current social media accounts are Twitter, Facebook, Mastodon, Instagram, Bluesky, Spoutible, Post, LinkedIn.

That's too many. but my main side hustle really relies on social engagement so I cast a wide net when Twitter went wild.

Now I am evaluating and going to cut back. The two main accounts that need to stay are Instagram and Mastodon. (I get no professional benefits to Masto, I just like it here).

simonegetoffthephone,

@danarel I have waiting for and I have qualms with all...but most espeically that I should need more than a single social media platform. No invite from bs yet, FB has no community standards, Insta is FB for a different demographic, TW is a dumpster fire but at least works and makes me laugh---but the unmentionable whale is a nasty, deceptive echo-chamber that doesn't really deliver on its promise.

"Access journalism from premium publishers, without subscriptions or ads. Pay just for what you read – a few cents per article."

. Despite their good intentions, Post will fail as long as its revenue model is based on MicroPayments. As Clay Shirky famously put it...

> The Short Answer for Why Micropayments Fail

> Users hate them

... and that's not going to change.
