The bass part was the reason I needed a drummer. I can't keep up with the fast bits (should have played fewer notes I guess), but my clap track gave me sonething to hang on to for dear life.

I want to record another cover for YouTube, but I'm just not feeling motivated.
I don't know whether I can blame the eclipse. Or the "I appreciate your effort" comment I got recently. (I'm really vain, and faint praise saps my will.)

A while back someone posted a clip of some gorgeous white bird almost walking like an Egyptian with "Word Up!" in the background - "glide by the people as they start to look and stare / do your dance, do your dance..."
It inspired me to cover the song.

Here's a demo of me noodling around with effects and Bossanova forms. There's a rhythmic noise sound that was created by one part of the effects that I left in this demo because I thought it sounded neat. Kind of a wintry filter on the Bossa sound after the blizzard we had here.
