If you needed another reason to be wary of : He's recently allied with Ron DeSantis in attacking lab grown meat.

There's no rational reason to hate lab-grown meat besides traditionalism, but plenty of reasons to attack - it's bad for the , animals are kept in horrible conditions, the government subsidizes it...

Fetterman even chooses a strangely Trumpian insult too: "Crash and Burn Ron."

A new law has come into effect in Florida stating that if you create or sell lab-grown meat, you might face a second-degree misdemeanor charge, which is punishable by up to 60 days in jail or a $500 fine. Several other states including Alabama, Tennessee and Arizona are attempting to follow suit. What's the beef with not-beef? “Florida is fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a statement. Food and Wine has the full story.

🤔 Interesting video about the green credentials of meat substitutes. (I would also recommend subscribing to Simon Clark if you are at all interested in topics.)

The first lab-grown burger cost $330,000 to create in 2013. The price has fallen to just under $10 per burger today, which is remarkable progress in just a decade.

It’s a remarkable scientific success, but the general public is divided over whether it will eat cultured meat (CM) products. Would you?
