Korjasin luuni (pun intended) nyt tänne mementomorin puolelle. Aiempi tili siis mastodo.fi:ssä. Ja sitä ennen ekana ehdotuksena tulleessa socialissa. Jospa tämä vaihtelu nyt sitten riittäisi.
@raijap@eevahoo Etu tässä on tietysti se, että se on minun ylläpitämä! 😂 Ei vaineskaan, en tiedä onko se etu. Mutta instanssia tukee myös digitoimistoni, joten ei ihan heti ole loppumassa touhu. Minulla on 20 vuoden kokemus palvelimista ja tästä on muodostunut minulle aika rakas juttu.

I was looking for a reply in a post earlier this year but then found it's gone. This is kinda a downside, I wish old replies could be re-fetched, never thought it's "impossible to undo".
It could work in a way it would backfill the replies once the post is accessed, but tech-wise I understand if it's not possible.
Question for admins: Are you doing something to circumvent this?
On the other hand, that's what life is all about, things get lost in time. And that's one of the principals in my views and #MementoMoriSocial is based on this idea. Yet I want to retain as much that is possible, that's why I've left the field blank for now. Let's see how long it lasts before the next scale up. #MastoAdmin

Please note: This is the last release I will continue to develop for 4.1.2 stable. More things will be present in the upcoming version (as of writing this: 1.5.8rc8-nightly-mastodon-4.1.2-nightly). I will focus on the nightly version, because it's quite hard to keep up with multiple versions. Version for 4.1.2 stable will stay as is for the time being.

During my 10 months time here on Mastodon I've learned so much from myself and the world around me, more than ever on Twitter in 16 years. All my life I've had this false sense of control. Not even having kids changed that. Not even having my own servers to run websites moved that mountain.
When I first encountered to this world of #Fediverse, I realized. No server is permanent, no one is going to live forever. There is a reason why my instance is called #MementoMoriSocial. This, in a sense, has been a huge and ongoing therapy session for me. We must remember there is no control. We must remember to focus in this moment. There is only present. :skull360:

@juha Hyvä osoitus vaan siitä, että palvelimen ylläpitotahon maine ja luonne on tärkeä juttu ottaa huomioon instanssia valitessa. Mutta mistäpä näitä tietää tarkkaan, ainakaan siinä kohtaa kun instanssia valitsee. Vaikka ulospäin näyttäisi hyvältä, ylläpitotaho voi osoittautua epäsuotuisaksi myöhemmin.
Mastodoniin tultaessa viihdyin pari tuntia mastodontti.fi:ssä, kunnes huomasin ääripään säännön suomenkielisyydestä. Tämän jälkeen viihdyin pari päivää jättimäisellä mstdn.socialilla, jonka säännöt olivat OK, mutta toimivuus siinä kohtaa suosiota ei. Oli taas aika muuttaa.
Oli helppo päätös palvelinnörttinä perustaa kokonaan oma, ei siten tarvinnut miettiä mitään sääntöjä tai toimivuutta. Ei ole ideaali ratkaisu monelle tavan käyttäjälle, mutta on hyvä että valinnanvaraa löytyy. Harmillisen huono tuuri näiden kahden suomi-instanssin suhteen. Minusta kumpikaan ei ole hyvä, ei herkkähipiäisyys eikä mulkkuus. #MementoMoriSocial
