@luca thanks. I'm not sure what this do, it's a notification about someone you follow has moved to another server? Is this an admin-level notification?
@thylacoleo hi, Phanpy dev here. If you've picked Spanish in your previous postings, it should be remembered and sorted to the top the next time.
Alternatively, you can pick the language in "Hide Translate button" section in Settings. It's a setting to hide the 'Translate' button for languages you already know, but it's also used to sort them up in the languages list while composing.
I use Phanpy 99% of the time when I use Mastodon in the browser. I think the UI is superior to the one that comes with Mastodon. Reading posts is so much nicer. You should give a look see if you haven't checked it out.
Phanpy is a fantastic alternative UI to Mastodon. I spend 98% of my time in Phanpy instead of using the Mastodon UI while on the web. I highly recommend you give it a try if you haven't already.
@cliffwade Everyone has their way of view content you love your desktop because that is what you use everyday and I love using my phone so that is how I like my content viewed. Its all good in the hood yo.
If you use Mastodon on desktop (as opposed to mobile), I cannot praise highly enough Phanpy https://phanpy.social/#phanpy
It really cleans up my timeline, handles replies very nicely, and allows for a great "refresh" (view updates) experience.
@SonnyBonds@xoofx@aras@BartWronski You don't need to do that? I highly recommend learning to navigate its UI solely by keyboard shortcuts. You change the focused post with j/k (next/prev) and then you can use action keys like f to favorite, r to reply, o to open, etc.
@SonnyBonds@xoofx@aras@BartWronski The keyboard shortcut design is shockingly good, I only wish a few things were different (e.g. e to edit is sorely needed, as someone who has an impossible time writing a properly edited first-draft post in small text boxes like this).
Feature request for #phanpy@cheeaun : when tapping the top of the iOS screen, scroll back to the top. The current mechanic (which works on all platforms) seems to be: scroll up, tap on “Home”
@cheeaun is there a bug I can track? Trying to understand the root cause and I think there are enough Safari / WebKit folks on here whom we can corral to help fix if need be.
@gurupanguji currently there's no issue for tracking. Tapping iOS statusbar to scroll to top only works for whole page body, not scrollable containers (used all over the place on Phanpy). There's also no programmatic way to intercept it.
Checking out the listed web / desktop #apps for #Mastodon most of them are really underwhelming. They even fail to describe on why one should use them. I didn't find a single desktop app which was worth installing, just from the information provided on their webpage. Multiaccount usage is irrelevant to me, for now.
With the #webapps I am now briefly trying out #phanpy#tooty#statuzer#trunksapp#elk and #mastodeck
#phanpy (https://phanpy.social/) is an awesome web client for Mastodon. Finally I can browse Mastodon using only the keyboard, something I missed on the default webpage.
