Can’t be more happy than that! These three amazing women (left to right): @maaya8585@sleepypioneer and @mesrenyameDogbe received the #PyLadies community award that they deserved! #PyConUS
Did you attend @pyladies auction last night? Could you send me notes about what you enjoyed or images or videos or all or some of the above?
I’m using an LLM to do some - as @simon suggested - worthy side quests. (Also my fellow gamers I always did side quests FIRST like I always need a gold chocobo and you can’t tell me otherwise …)
And for fun here is one of the various Guido foam entities.
Last night’s @pyladies Auction $60,000 USD fundraising goal was not only met but surpassed! Super thankful to the community for the support to empower women in #Python, to language creator Guido van Rossum for always being an advocate and champion for us, and to the many many amazing volunteers and #PyLadies who make our community that much richer!
The proud new adoptive parent of “Loren 2” the 18 foot purple stuffed snake auctioned off last night at the #PyLadies auction needs a LARGE duffel bag to transport her home.
#PyLadies set a record at tonight's auction. If I heard right, the previous record was $40,000, tonight raised around $60,000. Fierce bidding for all sorts of amazing items
🎵CUCKOO🎵 Who's excited for the 2024 PyLadies Auction?! What will you bid on? What did you donate?
The Auction is sold out, so if you have your ticket (check the back of your badge if you're not sure!), come on up to Ballroom A on the 3rd floor of the convention center. Doors open at 6:45! #PyConUS

I've commissioned this algorithmically embroidered bag by the amazing Marie Roald and Yngve Mardal Moe!
"This lined corduroy bag is embroidered with a retro computer graphics inspired starscape with two light sources that light up the Python logo and surrounding asteroids. The pattern was made by simulating 2D raytracing using Python and TurtleThread."
Join us at posit::conf(2024) on Wednesday, Aug 14 after the last keynote for the joint R-Ladies / PyLadies community mixer in Seattle! 💜 The event is open to the public and posit conf attendees. 🤗 #rstats#rladies#pyladies#positconf2024
After telling you all to sign up for PyCon US activities before they sell out I, Mariatta, PyCon US 2024 conference chair, also forgot to sign up for PyLadies Luncheon and now they're sold out 😭😭😭😭 #PyConUS#PyLadies
📢 Attention PyCascades attendees!🚀🐍
The #PyLadies Panel has officially started! Join us for an insightful discussion on "Talking about experiences and roles within Tech communities" and listen to the inspiring voices of these amazing women.
Don't miss out!✨👩💻🎓
@mariatta's efforts as a core Python developer to the development tools and making sure the #Python language summit is not all men ever again is truly incredible.
@christyheaton shared how her organizing work started and how it was really helpful to just jump in and start giving talks. Find a topic or project you like (in her case mapping in Python) and just speak about it everywhere!
The videos of the @pyladiescon 2023 are online now! 📺
It's great to see how many different topics were covered - from community building and mentorship to best practices in clean code, testing, and also deep learning.
If you missed the event or want to rewatch talks, you can access them all here:
As part of #PyLadiesCon2023, I had the chance to share one of my projects that aims to make the contributions of women in the field more visible: building and automating bots to share content created by #pyladies and #rladies. My talk starts with why visibility is so important, dives into the technical architecture of the bots, and finishes with some outlooks on future features (some of them are currently being implemented 🥳)
🌟 We're thrilled to announce Mariatta, a Python Core Developer & diversity advocate, joining our PyLadies panel at #PyCascades 2024! 🎉 Don't miss her insights on inclusion & more!🐍💻✨
