@jimgar I have no experience with neovim, so I couldn't really say. But all jokes aside, its for sure an IDE, even if it is also a cult :P

@ronblum RStudio is basically the IDE that has allowed me to flourish and become opinionated about these things. I think I'll also always have an RStudio bias, even if vscode has certain features that I prefer.

@adamhsparks nice to know my idiosyncrasies are not so idiosyncratic after all! 😊

Ive never tried neovim, its not available on the server i ssh into, which is the main place i use him, as I can't call a UI in there. Maybe I can ask for it, now that we are getting an upgrade from redhat 7 to rocky9... Would be fin to give it a go. Though, as I understand, it needs extensions to really work well, and I am unsure of how much time IT wants to dedicate to that.

@milesmcbain Interesting. Whenever I've talked to people about emacs + ESS they've not been particularly happy about how it worked and have been very positive to RStudio when it came along.

Another super frustrating thing about having depression and anxiety, is that medical professionals will forever doubt any recount of ailments they can't verify via blood samples to be of psychiatric origin.

I'm not ashamed of having mental illness, I would say I was depressed if I was depressed. It's not a problem.

But I know when I'm not depressed, it's so blatantly obvious to me that I'm not depressed, my mood is surprisingly good given my shitty health situation.

Nosing around some old codebases and I came across some old links to R-Forge. I couldn't access the pages that the links pointed to and so it made me wonder.

Is anyone still using this resource, https://r-forge.r-project.org, or has everything moved to GitHub/Lab/Codeberg/Sourcehut/etc.?

Is it customary for a bike shop to clean your chain and gearing while doing a tune up? I took mine in the other day and they had tightened the wires and trued up the back wheel, but the chain was as I left it, still kinda gunky.

@zkamvar during a tune up I'd definitely expect it as part of the deal. If it was in for some other ailment, not chain related, I would not expect it

Someone is making you a cup of tea. You see them add milk before taking out the teabag. Do you (a) smile, thank them politely, and drink it anyway, (b) accidentally knock it over and say, "Oh, don't worry, I'll make a fresh one myself," or, (c) wait, what? You're joking, right? Nobody actually does that, do they? Jeez, Greg, c'mon, I know it's April Fool's, but it's also Monday fucking morning and nobody has the energy for your perverse shit right now, OK?

@lars @nicole I just bought some lovely decaf beans and grind them for my morning coffee. I need to keep away from stimulants a while, but I've been missing my coffee. These are such a great roast and so yummy. I'm so happy to get a good cup of Joe in the morning without a racing heart.
