#Resonite folx - how easy is it to port Unity stuff (VRChat avatars animations etc) into Resonite? Any major changes needed? If memory serves Resonite is built on top of Unity right?
Names Replic, 33 and from the Netherlands, focussed on future related stuff!
I'm pretty creative, I kinda want to do a lot of things, learn a lot, currently that is learning how Blender works and how to make it work in the 3D world.
I also draw and do photographing sometimes, really depends on the mood :p
Always fun to meet new friends and to learn, but also learn others.....
Oh and I'm a very good listener, always in for helping someone out :3
My Fursona is a Cheegon, which is a Cheetah / Dragon Hybrid.
Recent changes are that he has glowy parts and got his wings back (which you do not see on here yet (gotta draw again!)).
Oh and eh.... yeah, I'm lewd, pretty much every day! but I'll be sure to use a CW for that once I have a bit more spicy posts coming :p
So yeah, that is pretty much me in a nutshell, want to know more about me, I'm a open book, so just ask!
On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank all of your for your generous support. Without your help, this new platform would not be possible! #resonite#VR
Hopped in #NeosVR for a bit, not specifically for the last time but it was kind of like that.
I was only sparsely using the platform in the end, but I still enjoyed tinkering every once in a while, especially with avatars.
Even though I wasn't doing anything else, I just wanted to make Neos versions of some of my avatars, because they looked and felt different in a great way.
So, NeosVR effectively died, as it was announced in their discord that negociations with the crypto brain worms CEO had fallen through and the entirety of people who matter on the development team had effectively resigned.
I was expecting it, and this made me much sadder than anticipated.
Fortunately, it seems everyone started a new thing that's yet to be announced (Resonite).
This seems like as good a time as any to Wax Lyrical about why Neos mattered.
NeosVR was a strange animal, but also maybe one of the most innovative in the social VR space.
It's difficult to really explain why I held it so dear, but it had, at its core, an absolutely rad idea: you should be able to create content while in the world, and that aspect should be multiplayer.
So it was something akin to vrchat meets garry's mod meets old school MU* systems.
I had not been active on Neos for a while because locking in what you create to a closed, possibly dying ecosystem felt wrong and sapped any desire to invest time and effort.
I firmly believe there will always be a space for this specific experience, and it would be extremely sad if no one stepped up to fill it.
Hopefully Resonite will be that. I am eager to have that experience again.
