Today in 1975 — THE EDGE OF NIGHT and AS THE WORLD TURNS aired live for the last time.

They became the last soaps to switch to videotape — after nearly 20 years of live broadcasts.

Me: This show "Sweet Magnolias" is just so ridiculous & just not great.
Also Me: Completely caught up in this silly streaming soap opera

The best part of #CruelSummer, season 1, is the range of #ChiaraAurelia as #JeanetteTurner. #OliviaHolt as #KateWallis is also very good.

What #Chiara did was next level, imo.

From geeky, awkward, innocent, and desperate-to-be-liked, to dark, brooding presence, her performance elevated this twisted #SoapOpera.

And the ending is just right.

It starts slow and grating (immature teen drama) but the final few episodes pay off.

It's a good show, overall, just don't expect a lot.

(1926-1989) was born on this day.

He was a familiar face on soap operas like THE EDGE OF NIGHT, TEXAS and GUIDING LIGHT.

But he’s best remembered for , where he lost his job because he wouldn't cross the picket line of a NABET technician’s strike.
