Farm has the iconic purple door right in their lavender fields. The door and the abundance of purple blooming lavender (from December through February) make it a top instagrammable spot in New Zealand. https://backpackandsnorkel.com/Wanaka/#farm

Wow, it's been a busy beginning of the year! Just taking the time now to post my last for 2023. From the carpark of Rhythm&Alps festival, what a magic night ✨
And for day after, my last sunset in (a little late I admit)!

Here's a hero story. An 8-year-old boy from Dunedin got jammed under a waterfall in the Rumbling Burn near Wanaka. Then all of these these people turned up to rescue him.

My favourite part is the "dozen 14-year-old girls" who slowed the flow of the waterfall.

Blue Pools in Wanaka is a hidden gem! It's a beautiful natural attraction with crystal clear blue water surrounded by lush forests. The water is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. It's a great spot for a refreshing swim or a peaceful walk along the walking tracks! 🌿💙

Approaching autumn storm at the iconic "Wanaka Tree", Lake Wanaka, South Island, NZ.
This is probably New Zealand's most photographed tree … and it's easy to see why! The delicately curved trunk seemingly grows directly out of the pristine waters of the lake, giving the appearance that the tree is floating on the surface of the water.

Ok I promise this is the last Wānaka Tree picture. This is a ten second exposure at f/135 using a 35mm pinhole camera. The film was Eastman 2254 Color Digital Intermediate Film which I have made monochrome.
