News / Pretendo Network: You can now StreetPass your 3DS friends from anywhere in the world!
Have you had trouble finding anyone to #StreetPass for Happy Home Showcase in New Leaf?
If you have, the team at @pretendo have just made it easier! With the latest version of Nimbus (which allows you to connect to the network), you're now able to StreetPass people online from anywhere in the world!
However, it's not that simple. Due to the buggy implementation of StreetPass for some games, you'll only be able to StreetPass people you've friended on your console (well that's 0 for me). It makes use of a feature called StreetPass Relay which was used at Nintendo Zones which allowed you to upload your data and download others.
I think I'll just stick to real StreetPasses for now though (I got 3 in the last year). Anyone reading from the South West or West Midlands?
News / StreetPass: Modders have gotten StreetPass to go online!
If you're a #Nintendo3DS owner, you might be pleased to hear that modders have made an online version of #StreetPass called NetPass, which allows you to StreetPass users on your 3DS.
It's great if you're struggling to find people, although I have thankfully had some StreetPasses with 3 people in the last year, 2 of which gave me Animal Crossing New Leaf data!
News / Nintendo Network: A quick heads up to remind you that there is less than 21 days left now
Just wanted to post a quick heads up to everyone that Nintendo Network will be gone in less than 3 weeks now. As a reminder, online services for the #WiiU and #3DS are shutting down on April 9th at 12am BST.
Don't forget that we still have a few events left in our Matrix space if you want to play some games with others before it is too late!
News / Events: Father's Day is on Tuesday in ES/IT New Leaf towns
If any of you are in Spanish or Italian towns in New Leaf or Let's Go To The City, expect to get a letter from Dad (with a red carnation attached) on Tuesday to celebrate Father's Day!
Or, for New Horizons players, be sure to hit up the Nook Shopping application to get exclusive items.
Community / Events: We're playing Animal Crossing New Leaf with members of the fediverse community on the 15th of March!
As part of our Nintendo Network Shutdown events across Splatoon Unofficial (@splatoon) and Crossing Corner, we are looking to play Animal Crossing New Leaf with members of the fediverse community on the 15th of March at 8:30pm GMT.
If you're interested in joining, you will need to be in our Matrix (link to events room - link to matchmaking room). This is simply because it is an easier way to communicate with others interested in participating and it'll make it easier for us to exchange friend codes. We don't have any Discord servers for Crossing Corner stuff, sorry!
If you're interested in playing, please exchange your friend code with me in the matchmaking room before the event starts (if I don't get sent any friend codes or don't see any interest a day before the event, I'll have to cancel 😭).
Once every 4 years, you get to celebrate the Leap Year on the 29th of February! On Thursday, Leap Day will happen in both Animal Crossing Let's Go To The City and New Leaf.
It's not really that notable but if your birthday is set to February 29th, you'll be able to celebrate it then!
News / Events: Fishing Tourney and Bug Off taking place on Saturday
Later tomorrow (or right now/in a few hours for some players), the #FishingTourney and #BugOff will be taking place!
For players playing Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf, you'll have the Fishing Tourney (which takes place from 12pm to 6pm in WW and 9am to 6pm in the other two).
For players in the Southern Hemisphere playing New Horizons, you'll have the Bug-Off (which takes place from 9am to 6pm).
Honestly I think the biggest quality of life change #ACNH made is the inventory and storage.
#ACWW, I can hold 15 things and literally nothing stacks. Shake five fruit trees and your pockets are full. #ACNL I can hold 16 things, fruit and only fruit can stack but you have to do it manually. NH starts you with 20 slots, which can be upgraded to more, and everything stacks automatically.
Money. Oh gosh, money. Shake a tree and get 100 bells? You pick that up in WW or NL and it's just a sack of money in your inventory, each new coin or sack takes up a new inventory slot unless you manually stack them. NH? Money automatically goes into your wallet if there's room.
Wanna send a letter? Gotta buy stationary that takes up space, except in NH where you just pick at the card stand and it sends right away. Lose some flavor but gain some convenience #acww#acnl#acnh#AnimalCrossing
Storage? I'm WW I've got what the wiki tells me is 90 slots, but it feels like less. NL I have 180, but wiki indicates that's upgradeable at least some.
NH? Currently my house has 5000 slots to satisfy my hoarding instincts. Looks like you start way smaller, but there's a lot of upgrades man. Also it's got rudimentary sorting.
