[🧵 15/19] But wait, there’s more! Let's go back to Gun Fight for a second. In the case of Midway's seminal title, the story doesn't even begin with Western Gun. It begins with.... Sega's Gun Fight (henceforth referred to as SGF), circa 1969.
[🧵 16/19] In SGF, two players control miniature physical cowboys inside a plexiglass case and attempt to “shoot” one another. I mention SGF because I've seen several sources state SGF was a direct inspiration on Taito's Western Gun, which in turn inspired Midways’ Gun Fight! (And yes, for the folks keeping track at home, the lineage of names goes Gun Fight -> Western Gun -> Gun Fight).
