I've started writing up my thoughts, design, and development thinking for an ESP32 based sort-of-educational pseudo-analog synth toy/hack/plaything meant to be used with a breadboard for extras.

I'm probably tempting fate by posting about it at this point, but I had several posts in draft so thought I'd hit "go" on them anyway.

When I get the actual boards back, if the posts all suddenly disappear, you'll know it was a bit of a disaster!

@diyelectromusic Whatever the outcome with the boards, keep going with this! Have fun!

I love these kinds of projects and digging into hardware.

Thank you for sharing!

Since this week's theme is and I was born April 1980, I have to talk about TELEKON.

Gary Numan released Telekon, my favorite of his records, in 1980. It was the first vinyl I bought as a teen in the 90s. Hearing this intro track and the album that followed was mindblowing. Definitely listen to this whole record if you get a chance.

Here's "This Wreckage", the first song on Telekon, one of the best album opening tracks EVER:

In 1994, our puzzle game Clockwiser was released for Amiga (OCS and AGA), CD32 console, MS-DOS and Windows 3.1.

This is the 4-channel music our composer Ramon Braumuller made for a 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 that was included on magazine cover disks.

The tune is 109 kilobytes, including digitized instruments.

RadioPhobicSherkPop - “The Wind in Winter”

@radiophobicsherkpop

Gorgeous sounds and infectious rhythms. An absolutely irresistible synth arpeggio drives the heart of the track, but it is well and ably supported by soaring string pads, washes of filtered synth and percolating rhythmic elements. Pretty and inviting, and somewhat reminiscent of classic Yellow Magic Orchestra and other early ‘80s pioneers.

If you're looking for something #weird and #experimental for your #BandcampFriday list, try out The Alchemical Process of Modular Synthesis, my second release of 2023. I didn't heavily promote this one, because a) it came hot on the heels of my premier 2023 release, Psychedelic Ghost Stories, and I was more keen to get the word out on that one, and b) because it's pretty out there and likely to alienate a fair number of listeners 😅

@experimentalmusic @modularsynth this album is 100% apart from a tiny bit of post processing. If you're curious about the prices, it is actually fully documented on my blog:

(Basically the first dozen or so posts cover it, it's pretty clear in the posts' body which ones are relevant.)

Y'all know I'm not big on black metal, but being that it's Monday and I keep coming back to this one, it's probably a good one for .

LUST HAG is a solo project of Eleanor Harper - it's one woman feral black metal from Montana and it's pretty cool. There's some great synths and dynamics and interesting lyrics, etc.

Black metal fans, this is probably worth checking out.

Okay, it's time. Time to change servers. Time to have local & federated timelines that don't make my eyes bleed. Time to support an indie effort.

Does anyone want to share about their server? My main interests are - I play , , , and software, with varying degrees of skill - and - I'm attempting to get into grad school for to facilitate a career change. I'm also liberal af, if that matters one way or the other on your server.

I did a thing.

A related thing.

Okay, I'll tell you, but stop begging - it's embarrassing for both of us and everyone who's watching.

I've obtained a Limited Manufacture Licence for some iconic music tracks to be released as an album of and cover versions on and

Now I just need to find some interested artists to join me in this ridiculous endeavour.

enthusiasts, what is your take about the ? I'm looking for an option of a single synth to use in gigs as a unique synthesizer, I use digitally emulated synths for production but would like to get something playable and practical for live situations, and this one comes with a sequencer (although the price range is way beyond my yearly gear budget at the moment, even looking only at beringher's options, but dreams must be fed and entertained)
