Got my new eye glasses today. I still need to get used to the varifocal view (they called it something like "digitalfocal"), but I already feel comfortable with them.
Question: soap alternative for washing hands on the go for purpose of removing and reinserting rpg contact lenses? I never went thru the initial eyeglasses adjustment period so I have never driven in eyeglasses before. I want to change that and drive to a sparsely populated area with empty parking lot, remove contacts, put on eyeglasses, afterwards reinsert lenses. On the go I usually use wet wipes and sanitizer after eating, for example. (1/2) #contactlenses#rpg#eyeglasses#soap#optometry
My eyeglasses are being held together with superglue and I just got my new prescription. Where are people buying eyeglasses online nowadays? In the past I’ve gone through Zenni and a couple others. Just trying to see if anything has changed as of late.
Don't know why we have a double checkmark in the Mastodon Advanced Web Interface in the Notficatins column. As someone who takes reading glasses on and off it makes me reach for my eyeglasses even though I’m wearing them. Sort of silly and very distracting. #Mastodon#eyeglasses#vision#UI
Got new glasses at a local optometrist. He talked me out of getting full-on progressives in favor of brand name “anti-fatigue” lenses. Total after insurance: $200+ (before: $700+‼️).
Then I ordered a cheapo pair, after reading up on the anti-fatigue lenses & fabricating a (stronger) progressive prescription. Total, no insurance: $135.
Guess which pair is better? :blob_cat_innocent:
Anyhoo! If you need good cheap specs, try yesglasses.com :blobcatthumbsup:
Well my glasses came in. I really like my aviator sunglasses but I'm not sold on the Oakleys. My wife said that's what's in style but I've never been an "in style" guy. That being said they are really nice so I'll adjust and I'll admit they're way more comfortable than the wire frames I normally wear. 😎🤓
Two direct eye contact selfies of me wearing my glasses are below. Obviously in one you can't really see my eyes...
#Eyeglasses were part of the material history of reading in early modern Europe, as this painting from 1403 (vom Conrad von Soest) shows.
This is a slow moving thread for #histodons, a thread about how to read in the past, where to buy eyeglasses, and how to do with them in general. The hashtag is #HowToDoWithGlassesInThePast
My daughter found out she needs glasses and came home in tears yesterday. She's worried about being made fun of. I doubt that will be the case but I'm not a preteen girl so I can't relate. So today after work I stopped and ordered myself two pairs of glasses, 1 regular 1 sunglasses and plan on joining her in solidarity. If they make fun of her they can talk to me and all the kids are terrified of me.
