I have had an extremely hard week. I had some me time for myself for the first time in Don't Ask, so I decided to go fiddle in Gridania. A lalafel came up to me, dressed like this, and started cheering. I love this game. I love this shitpost given form. #gaming#videogames#mmorpg#finalfantasy#ffxiv#ff14
More terrifying than any first-time dungeon: musical performances. And I used to do these IRL, some just with a piano accompaniment - and those were terrifying too.
Apparently fictional audiences bring back that feeling.
But it's done and I hope I don't have to repeat that again. I still remember my hideous performance during the "be a conductor" Starlight event...🙈
Have to say, as much as I'm looking forward to #DawnTrail (starting an Ascian-free story, huzzah), I'm not sure how I feel about a neon-lit street in a fantasy setting.
The Allagans had advanced tech but in the distant past. The Garleans tried to harness it but imploded, due to...leadership issues.
"Solution Nine" is jarringly futuristic, considering my main is into magicks and swords.
@FibroJedi It makes patently no sense, but then again, a lot of genre conventions in other genres and series make no sense either — I personally read the contrast between high and modern fantasy as being quintessential to what Final Fantasy is, but that's again just me.
@FibroJedi (Notable partial exception here being FFXVI, which Yoshi-P said was intended to explicitly buck that trend. Even then, it winds up having ancient civilizations that follow the trend, and has plot points directly calling out the contradiction. To say more would be massively spoiler-y.)
YoshiP: Okay, we’re making Fantasy India. What are your best ideas, team?
FFXIV Development Team:
Sokken: Well I think we should start with just the SEXIEST trombone solo
@kaia I wanted to incorporate more golden patterns on black ground, and those were the closest fit~ The salon servers shoes are a good substitute though
