So, somewhat late recap of last week in fedora-infra:

  • Lots of catching up since I was out at entirely the week before and recovering from travel.
  • Fedora 39 branched off rawhide on tuesday! Hurray.
  • Lots of fixing random things from that. We are keeping a retro document this time to capture them and do better next cycle.
  • Started syncing prod->staging koji databases (which also meant re-installing stg with rhel9 to match prod).

today:

  • won the lottery! woohoo!
  • lots more trying to get update tests working post-F39 branching; I think I have it in a good state now, and gating is enabled for again. All tests should pass for Rawhide updates, for F39 updates the desktop_background tests will fail as we don't have F39 backgrounds yet, I have dropped these from the gating policy for now
  • got sysadmin-main powers. somebody has made a terrible mistake somewhere

Well, it seems there was some COVID circulation at 🤒. If anyone was around me and is feeling sick, you should get tested.

This is an interesting seat: Delta seat 5A on their CRJ900 (9E) configuration. It's a Comfort+ seat, but because it's at the front of Comfort+, there's actually more legroom than the first class seat. It's also not an exit row. Of course, the seat isn't as wide or as comfortable as a first class seat, and there is only one seat to store your bag under (and the overhead bins are super super tiny), but it's a great seat for legroom.

Still traveling home ( one more flight and then a 2h drive), and I will do a long firm post after I recover, but just wanted to say it was awesome to see everyone at and my complements to all the organizers! 💙

Our experience has felt very positive. So many productive conversations both from stage and in the "hallway track" as stakeholders of various enterprise Linux communities came together to talk face to face, build relationships, and work to establish a shared vision for the future. Sincere thanks to the Fedora community for holding space for this necessary work.

Here you can find a link to Lenovo systems that support Fedora!: https://www.lenovo.com/linux

If Fedora is listed, you should be good. If Linux in general is listed then you should also be good except for those that have Nvidia cards - those will need a certain driver.

The Fedora Marketing Team is working with Lenovo to bring you a simplified view of what products ship or support Fedora, so be on the lookout for that!

Fedora receives contributions from Meta engineers through Fedora ELN (next major release of CentOS Stream), EPEL, the Rust SIG, and more.

Fun fact: Meta employees were among the main drivers to switch to Btrfs as the default filesystem!
