EA should really consider a Syndicate (2012) remaster.
While extremely linear and fairly short, this Starbreeze Studios-developed FPS was quite a looker back then ... and it played well, too. In fact, Syndicate was ahead of its time in terms of gameplay.
That said, this is exactly how all games should be -- always available on current platforms via an up to date engine. The idea that games can only come back via a #remaster or #remake is, I would say, more harmful to preservation than not #halflife#gamepreservation
Currently playing #Nier: Replicant, #FinalFantasy IV, and #ShadowComplex. Enjoying Nier: Replicant so far. FFIV was the FF game of my childhood but never got around to finishing it so here we go. And Shadow Complex is a fun metroidvania.
I enjoy the remake of the original Halo available on the MasterChief Collection for the Xbox One, but there is certainly a different atmosphere.
The original just felt more alien and mysterious to me, where the newer version is all about detail and therefore raises the overall lighting level to view it all.
