According to Gordon Ramsay, we're in the golden age of dorm-room cooking, as a result of social platforms where students can exchange cooking hacks, and the proliferation of devices like crock pots and portable burners. "These low-budget, accessible, and creative dorm-room meals are opening up new possibilities for all cooks with limited kitchen access, from low-budget travelers staying in hostels to anyone struggling with housing insecurity to housemates tired of waiting for their turn to use the oven," writes Grey Moran. Here's their story for Civil Eats. We'd like to know: How would you rate your cooking abilities?
I’m writing a paper today, due tonight. I made a note somewhere to reflect on linguistic relativity, i.e. how the language(s) a person speaks influences the way they think about reality, in relation to folkloric content in a documentary we watched in class. And then I have a tall stack of assignments to work through—due tomorrow. #StudentLife
I have a new group in my elective class. We have to give peer feedback, and so far no one has posted any constructive feedback for me on how to improve, and I now feel kind of like a jerk because I posted constructive criticism for each person, since this is a draft and we are supposed to make our tutorial videos better based on the feedback we receive. #academicChatter#studentLife
PSA: check if you updated your table of contents BEFORE you hand in your text.
Not a week after it, like I just did...
I handed in my last big uni paper with the table of contents still showing an emoji status for every chapter 🙈
(✍🏻 = in progress, ⏸️ = MVP/ I'm okay with this, ✅ = has been double-checked & vetted, 💩 = should probably delete / rewrite completely).
Luckily no 💩, but might still come off as a little unprofessional 😁
