Filmed the second of the three rivers we visited during the dry season, completing the fifth of six parts for this exploratory documentary on the #rivers of #Yogyakarta. Saw fish and insects, but no larger wildlife.
Good: I finished filming another part of our exploration of the life in #Yogyakarta's rivers.
Bad: one of the cards got corrupted, so I might lose some of the footage. Still working on recovery and we'll see how that goes (I have no idea what I'm doing :blobpeek:).
Although it's been several years since my last trip, I can "visit" #Yogyakarta by viewing CCTV cameras. This is a busy area in the south of Jl Malioboro. I miss the city of my dreams!
"What Can We Learn When a Green Snake with a Red Tail Bites a Cat?"
A video on a recent incident in #Yogyakarta and what we can learn from it. Incorporating my interview with herpetologist, Donan Satria, it covers (1) the different ways we get bitten and dealing with them; (2) how we're probably underestimating #snake bites of animals and don't know much about it, outside USA/Australia; and (3) the #biogeography of Java's tree vipers and the impact of the Wallace Line.
I'd love to go back to #Yogyakarta (Java, Indonesia), but I've been watching CCTV feeds. Street musicians are coming back, but I don't see any anklung, and it looks like the lesehan on Jl Malioboro are gone.
