Finde den Diskurs auch ultra anstrengend, weil fast niemand offen für eine neutrale Diskussion des Konflikts ist, alles muss auf “Team Israel” und “Team Palästina” reduziert werden. Spricht man Israels Recht an, sich gegen Terror zu verteidigen, ist man automatisch für Bombenangriffe auf Zivilisten. Spricht man das Leid der unschuldigen Zivilisten in Gaza an, unterstützt man Terroristen, weil man ja nicht in einer langen Präambel erstmal den Terror der Hamas verurteilt hat.

I’m extremely happy with chezmoi. It’s very simple to use, but when you need more advanced features, it has them. It can do templates, ignoring and other stuff allowing you to easily manage dotfiles on multiple machines or even multiple operating systems (like windows on PC, Linux on laptop). Here is a comparison table of some dotfiles manager (it’s on chezmoi’s website, so it may be biased) Also here are my dotfiles (as a Linux user, I cannot resist the urge to share my dotfiles whenever I have the opportunity)

You can always try searching on Trending Communities or New Communities, that’s where I’ve found many new interesting communities to follow and I have both of them on my RSS feed to ensure I don’t miss any news. In related topics, the main Wordpress.com site is finally enabling ActivityPub so expect many blogs to start interacting with the Fediverse and, who knows, directly cross-posting to Lemmy.

Fríggin’ finally. This distro is the one to watch, because unlike Silverblue or any other immutable OS, Vanilla doesn’t build it’s system image using some esoteric homebrewed standards. It uses OCI images to boot an immutable system.

Add distrobox into the mix and suddenly you’ve separated the system from the user environment. That way user applications and system applications never need to touch, like at all.

Additionally if you can get one OCI image running on a bare metal system like a laptop or workstation, you could probably do it with others as well, meaning that as long as the system itself contained the tooling to rebase images, you could “distrohop” without having to delete any partitions or reinstall in any way.

You might need a process for that specifically, but it it possible - and being able to hotswap Linux distros, whereby going back is a reboot and selecting the previous image? Yes please.

There are several more immutable systems, like the afformentioned Silverblue (rpm-ostree), MicroOS (transactional-update) and NixOS (the programming language and environment that can spit out a system known as “nix”… which is what I’m using now). But it’s all very developer-centric - even if that is not the intention.

Vanilla is a desktop-oriented distribution, pure and true. The developers and community want an easy, safe experience for all which is what an immutable system can help with and will open a massive world to newcomers who don’t care what a distribution is, because they can use any distribution they want - from a single command… but also, in the future, a GUI!

So massive, massive shout out to the Vanilla devs and community. When it’s released as beta stable I might consider returning, but… nix… well… the power is just immense. Mmmmm. MMMMM!

Sofern die Grundstückspreise nicht explodieren ist eine Leerstand finanziell gesehen für den Eigentümer nicht sinnvoll.

Vielleicht kann dieser es sich schlichtweg nicht leisten zu renovieren.

An der Stelle ist dir offenbar nicht bewusst, wie die Situation in den betroffenen Städten aussieht und welche Motivation dahintersteckt. Bekannte Beispiele sind etwa:

Grindel­allee 80, Hamburg: Besitzer zahlreicher Immobilien kauft Haus in bester Lage - lässt es nicht nur verkommen, sondern verschüttet Buttersäure, um Mieter zu vergraulen. Denn ein unbewohntes Objekt hätte einen deutlich höheren Wiederverkaufswert.

Habersaathstraße 40-48, Berlin: Vermieter scheitert mit Zwangsräumung vor Gericht - und lässt daraufhin in Wohnungen einbrechen und diese zertrümmern.

Wohnungen werden hier nicht gekauft, um durch Mieten Einnahmen zu erzielen, sondern sie werden anstatt Aktienpaketen gekauft, weil man sich durch ihre Wertsteigerung eine deutlich höhere Rendite investiert, als bei Spekulationen auf Unternehmen.

Es gibt in Berlin und Leipzig kein Problem mit fehlenden Wohnungen, wie es CDU und FDP herbeireden wollen - es gibt ein ganz massives Problem mit Spekulativem Leerstand. An allen Ecken.

Tl;dr: Die direkten Kosten für uns alle betragen 70 Mrd, davon sind satte 18 Mrd (!) Unfallfolgekosten, die von den öffentlichen Sozialkassen getragen werden.

Das sind aber auch nur alles geschätzte Werte, weil der Straßenverkehr in D so intransparent ist, das man Studien braucht um das aufzudröseln.

Das allerschärfste: „Seit 2012 gebe es keine offiziellen Angaben mehr, welche Kosten für Bau, Unterhalt und Betrieb von Kreis- und Kommunalstraßen anfallen.“ 🤡

Klar, ganz normaler move, ich zuck auch immer einfach mit den Schultern wenn das FA fragt wie hoch meine Ausgaben sind.
