Punks in their 30s bitterly complaining about how you used to be able to get by every month on just petty crime. Criminals need to unionize and demand a cost-of-living increase.
@rechelon When I first saw M (1931), the thing that really floored me at first was they acted like a union instead of modern US gangs, which are capitalist operations.
Like they were worried about how they were going to be bankrupted by all the money they were paying to widows of members murdered by cops.
Instead of being outrageously rich while street dealers were worse off than minimum wage.
Deleted my Bluesky account that was for my anime blog. I see no point in Bluesky since it won'r get any engagement there anyway. Not to mention, there is no tools to autoshare that works reliably.
@chikorita157@anianimalsmoe unlike pawoo and I think mstdn.jp, misskey isn't defederated or blocked from .social so I see their toots and follow some artists there myself.
But I only get replies and likes from my followers (who are mostly radicals, some of whom like anime), even when I use hashtags, rather than 2019 Twitter where I had a decent split anime fans & political accounts.
Ever get tired of streaming companies raising their prices to the point where you just decide to cancel everything and watch reruns of Supermarket Sweep for the rest of your life?
Was on a documentary kick and started thinking about how there's very few good anarchist documentaries. "Anarchist" youtube is an embarrassing and unrepresentative trashfire, but even they haven't made anything really.
Like what would get packed into a 1 hour long 101 introduction to the anarchist movement?
Basic ideas and ideological branches. History of struggles and heroes. Modern culture and projects. Advances to our canon.
You could probably speed run this stuff and make it engaging.
@rechelon The problem with introducing anarchist ideas that quickly is even when you word it plainly, as many Ⓐs do, it runs so counter to what how archists are taught to think that it takes time to absorb.
@rechelon I was thinking of the first time I read WIP? Or Fragments/Debt rather than the atrociously bad YT videos saying Communes (TM) should have contracts or whatever.
Proudhon only uses fancy language when he's mocking contemporaries, but it's so outdated and nobody should have to read 180+ year old works to get basic ideas.
When Heather Heyer died there was a general amnesty for legions of anarchists who had furiously despised and shittalked antifa. We let them abruptly pretend they never defended Death In June or let nazis couch surf. We let them re-brand as antifa. Because if they need to lie about their history to take the right side, fine.
But every once in a while those "premature antifascists" that remember spend a night together bringing up specific names and screaming.
@rechelon I'm really glad that before Richard Spenser getting punched (which I rationalized as acceptable because he was x steps away from Trump, an actual ruler, or something) I sometimes thought "I don't know if [non-state target not doing violence] is acceptable for [particular tactic] but I'm going to Shut The Fuck Up about it instead of getting in the way or arguing with possibly important work I can't yet map"
Yeah, weird thing I had to rewrite a morality system to encompass.
