@mgrahamwoods Not common, but regular winter visitors here in eastern KS, and more common as you go west from here.

40 years ago a shrike seen here in winter was most likely a Loggerhead, but the Loggerheads are declining and are now mostly summer residents. If I see a shrike in winter here these days, it is usually a Northern.

I had a male Rough-legged Hawk fly directly at me today, and he gave me the look that is sometimes the last thing that a mouse or vole ever sees.
