Here's another of my favorite #bird photos from our recent #camping and #birding trip. This is a Prothonotary Warbler and one of my favorite species. They are sometimes called swamp canaries because of their preference for wet habitats. #birds#nature#wildlife#Wisconsin
Small Australian birds are actually REALLY aggressive. Our honeyeaters are enormously territorial and spend a lot of their time shooing other birds out of their territories. But the KING of aggressive behaviour are our little willy wagtails. They will take on anything - and they normally win. As an interesting aside I have never actually seen a raptor preying on willy wagtails, but the ravens and kookaburras certainly do. #birds#birdphotography
The Hungarian Ornithology Society has these collectible pins they sell for donations at various locations around Hungary. There are more than 300 species included, but the catch is, they don't tell you which pins you can find at which locations.
Today I went on a scavenger hunt and managed to find a care at the fourth try 😄 Yay!
Meneer merel heeft waterpret!
...nog veel andere vogels gebruiken dit badje dat ik soms 2 keer per dag aanvul, plus iedere nacht de egel die het regelmatig helemaal opdrinkt...
Finally: a Swainson's thrush, a bay-breasted warbler, and a water thrush—I'm not sure if it's a northern or a Louisiana water thrush. #birds#wildlifePhotography#birdCPP
Oh, what the heck; let me post more now. All at the Pool in NYC's Central Park: a male and a female common yellowthroat warbler, a magnolia warbler, and a black-throated blue warbler. #birds#wildlifePhotography#birdCPP
A few of my pictures from yesterday (more coming tomorrow…). The first three are from Central Park in NYC: a great egret that has just speared a fish on both parts of its beak (Harlem Meer), a spotted sandpiper (Pool), and a black-and-white warbler (also Pool). Last, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, two common raven chicks in a nest behind St. Andrew's head. They're getting big! #birds#wildlifePhotography#birdCPP
People who complain about wild #birds singing so hard in the morning - are not my friends. I'm DELIGHTED about early morning bird songs!
Their bird calls YellTell me - We are happy in our habitat here! It's another day we are alive!
Their early morning bird songs, remind me of the importance of feeling #gratitude of being able to enjoy another morning, another day, to relish in the fact I'm still alive & able to receive many opportunities that the dead no longer have.
