I have done like 10% manual +90% automation this way. Installed zorin os on old laptop, connected 2tb external HDD, paid and started using emby, and then installed qbittorrent remote on mobile, installwd samba on zorin. Set zorin to not shut off and hen I close lid off. Once this is all done, started adding torrent via qbittorrent remote, then using solid explorer move files to external HDD and th n stream it in tv via emby app
Lately ive noticed that i was wanting to do certain things on Windows that just seemed much easier and more intuitive on Linux, based in the OS specific solutions i would see to problems i encountered. And i was more frequently using software where Windows support seemed like an after thought....
its easy for you because you been playing around with Linux, I tried to install SSH on zorin os. But after installing SSH , it needs to be restarted, when tried to do that , it won’t saying the ash server did not start, A simple thing like this is have me stumped in Linux where as in windows it was just installing putty and done.
I have revived my old laptop with zorin os 17. It’s now a emby server with external HDD attached to it. I have qbittorrent on it, which downloads what o want headlessly using mobile client. But I have no way to move files from downloads folders to proper folder (i.e movie, TV ,etc). How do I do this using mobile ? Or even...
How do I enable say on laptop? I have app for connecting to server/remote servers , it’s a file manager called solid Explorer, that I can use. But once i give this command what will happen? And what is exact command in ssh to move files to folder ?
Thanks for reply 1.The data willove to folder on attached external HDD, 2. What is vnc/rdp? 3. Where I can search for this Trivial script ? 4. Do s radarr/sonarr move files who h they have not passed on to q bitorent ?? 5. I use Android with solid Explorer as app with which i can connect sftp, lan/smb etc kind of things
Do you also know if I can connect to this server out of my home ?
Not car free but i can definitely tell you there is possibility to walk, public transit in MOST of EU cities. Starting from Scandinavia, almost any city with pop , 10k or more will have generally bus transport, and probable connectivity to nearest big city by train/bus, big cities have metro (Stockholm) that I know of Germany has vast network of rail(although it’s schisse at moment with DB) , within cities its bus , that I know of . France almost any big city will have bus, tram and/or metro and long distance trains Same for spains cities , Netherlands is famous for its Public transport This is from what I know
Cars are severely slow and given less prio in these countries, in any of big city e.g. Barcelona, Paris, Hague, you can see you can go faster by public transportation or almost same time as car for same destinations , check it out in Google maps with comparisons
This feels like something that could be understood easily, thanks 👍. Can I ask ,what if want to not search and add shows based on new items but, I just want to get , say like a movie from 90s , what use is then radarr and sonarr?
I have ability to ignore pain, stressful situation and/or things I don’t want , it has helped me immensely but also is a problem when I have to understand people’s nature , what type they are, it also does not help me control my emotions, when I am excited to meet some one, I will just talk truth to them.
I believe it’s kind of like autism, cause I know I should control myself but I really can’t it’s like I am on cliff and falling down but I can’t find the rock to hold onto , I just talk.
Sygic broke trust like that with me . The software is/was excellent and very reasonable, so I bought licences for parts of world and suddenly they made it subscription based app, with ability to keep forever licence for only part of world you bought.
So even though I have fully paid software , i have to pay subscription for the feature of Android Auto and world maps.
It was the list betrayal of trust i have seen. I never used sygic after that at all.

The biggest problem with Lemmy Community is “Linux is not for newbies and it does not work as smithy as windows” Sentence will give you negative Karma in hundreds. The community is smug about using Linux Anywhere on Lemmy.
I have no problem changing be it windows or Linux, but things don’t work in Linux, I will give you example, when closing the lid don’t suspend the power is easy to find and setup in windows. They to do that in one of the friendliest Linux i.e. ZORIN OS and tell me your mother can do it.
Or try to play and video saved from iphone with live images ,(hevc format i think )and see what error Linux throws and see if you can at least know what is needed , which windows tell you in face.
You made a Pretty good points there. Why cheqpen it with last sentence. It’s as philosophical as it gets. Infact feels like in like with what all ancient civilization saying.

I gained weight when I could make money. Now I keep intermittent fasting for 10-12 hours just to prolonge my food. It not just keeps me lose weight but I .sure of I start making money again , I won’t be able to get fat because this discipline. Also it reduces your hunger significantly, I now can stay fasting even in winters.
Honesty and really as of now much more interaction than lemmy, and no downvotes for not using Linux or saying Linux is hard for anyone regularly using windows
