Local elections for me are based on a minimum number of signatures. It’d be nice if presidential candidates had to go and get some number of physical signatures themselves. It’d be a good way to force them to spend at least a little bit of time actually meeting people. Though this would probably get gamed somehow.
I was just watching Titanic and spent 20 minutes looking up the effects of hypothermia and discovering that Jack may have been alive and in stage 3 hypothermia when Rose let go, and because he sank instead of floated, he was in fact alive. In general no, you can see everything from one account. The reasons for having multiple accounts are approximately the same as for Reddit, such as having a NSFW account separate from your regular account. The only additional concern with Lemmy is that some instances defederate from each other. Unless your account is on the instance that's defederated though, it won't affect you.
