Fiddling around with throwing virtual cards into a heap with mostly unsatisfactory results. Looking for inspiration from @zimpenfish

@zimpenfish I was hoping for a "random” scattering of cards that minimised empty space and with minimal overlap that didn’t look too regular. But have been too lazy so far to do anything other than randomly position them

@zimpenfish even with a simple Poisson Disk Sampling it comes out a bit better. Can start tweaking layers.

@llamasoft_ox @zimpenfish Musk Ox priority! It’s actually shuffling 3 copies of each card into the stack so it’s likely to end up with odd repeats. The RNG is a bit rubbish

Mastodon Hive Mind. I want to get a battery powered “Security" camera, with night vision, to try and detect what creature(s) have invaded our loft.

I don’t need advanced features, such as human detection etc, or cloud sync.

Any recommendations, there are positively bazillions on Amazon with unrecognised brands.

The River was a major nexus for mustering war bands especially as the Forest Council forbade such activities at most other sites. Totally chaotic second half saw banners and sites changing hands with alarming frequency, before @iain left Peter too much to do in his final turn and won with a Vision. Really excellent session but nerves were shredded so we opted for Dice Realms and Yellow & Yangtze after lunch.

So, I think this is the last of the Kickstarters that I backed in the depths of the Pandemic. Apart from the second part of Darkest Dungeon, but I doubt that will ever appear.

I liked 7th Continent so this could be good to explore.

Seems like Vision Pro production is keeping up with demand. I just checked and I could walk in and get a 256GB unit from 7 of the 8 closest Apple Stores around me.

Tell me Granddad, what were music players like in the olden days?

Actually my grandson has a fabulous music player by Yoto that he adores. It’s really robust and easy to add your own tracks to. Would have been total science fiction when I was 2 years old!

I remembered this wallpaper I saved around the time the iPod 3 was out. Figured I would try to make a recreation of it for modern iPhones. I can’t guarantee that it will align properly on all iPhones but it should work on at least all the 6.1 inch models.

An album I like disappeared from Apple Music for some reason so I’ve had to resort to getting the physical copy and importing it manually. Like a monster. Interestingly the default encoder now is Apple Lossless which is slow but should be good quality. Does make me wonder if I should be re-encoding the boxes of CDs in the attic though.
