I keep seeing it floated that 'if you have a million users, and you don't have a way to make money, what are you even doing?’, which is incredibly toxic. Screw everybody who provides free software/tools, I guess?

I guarantee you every single one of you relies on software that has more than a million users and makes $0, somewhere in your tech stack.

Having a single app like that in your portfolio, even if you have robust paid apps, could be enough to bankrupt you under Apple's CTF proposal

@gilhova @scalzi heh. I just jumped on a slightly more modest 14” M3 Max for much the same reasons. I expect to keep it for 4+ years and over that time not have to worry about capacity or performance. The most grievous part was the 4TB cost but again not having to micro manage storage is a huge advantage.

With the release of iOS 17.3, Stolen Device Protection is now generally available. This is one of my favorite new iOS features. You will want to turn on Stolen Device Protection as it provides a great additional security layer for everyone, but particularly for those of us who use iCloud Keychain.

Turn on Stolen Device Protection by opening Settings, selecting Face ID & Passcode, and then choosing Turn On Protection under Stolen Device Protection.

UK space minister mixes up Mars and the Sun and for an encore Jupiter for Saturn. Then when corrected gripes he’s “not an encyclopaedia”.

My 9yo came home from school and rattled off the planets, in order. I also asked a few questions and she correctly identified individual planets.

So I think it’s only right at this point to my my 9yo in charge instead of the Tories.
