You might want me to shut up, but that's exactly why I won't.

@StillIRise1963 I have been following your threads and as an admin of a small server I can say that I go through reports with a fine toothed comb so as to not get it wrong. I look at the entire thread and make a decision from there. It makes me angry that other admins can't do the same process. I understand it can get busy with large servers, but still... What has happened here should never have happened. I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this.

@bookstodon recommendations continued...

Breadwinner is a graphic novel about a girl in Afghanistan who has to dress like a boy in order to get food and work to help her family after her father was imprisoned.

Beetle and the Hollowbones is a YA graphic novel about a young goblin and her friend. It is a Stonewall Honor Book and was an exciting adventure saving Blob Ghost.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@bookstodon And a couple more recommendations...

Flamer is about a boy at scout camp questioning his sexuality. It is a middle grade graphic novel that packs a punch.

And finally...

Through the Woods is a horror graphic novel for middle grade readers. The pictures are beautiful and the stories are chilling.

@UnusualDay @bookstodon The Fablehaven series is quite good. My son loved that and I have read the first two books and enjoyed them.

Black Duck (Janet Taylor Lisle)

Observing Earth's Lifestyle (David L. Roman)

Braiding Sweetgrass is such a beautiful book. I am treasuring every moment reading it. I don't want it to end, but it will.

In the past we have had people ask about making donations to help curb our cost of running the server.

As Bookstodon.com is a labor of love (books are my real life obsession), we will never ask for donations.

We are also able to keep our costs low due to running our own Mastodon hosting platform.

If you are interested in helping out, we would just like you to help bring friends to Mastodon from Twitter or Goodreads whether it be our server or any other.
