I had a good start to the day, and a nice lunch with one of our donors and left with a six figure gift check, met my boss to hand over said check so he could put it in the bank, but then long covid face flushness has returned. Now just chilling to some Marillion and waiting to eat a healthy dinner.

After putting Helo to sleep yesterday, I've just had a knot in my stomach. I tried to go to work this morning but only lasted a couple hours. I came home and slept. I just woke up an hour ago.

I'm still grieving. Luckily, I work the closing shift tomorrow night, 3-11 pm, so I should be feeling better by then.

Perhaps I can be too opinionated or, maybe it's assertively opinionated.

But it's also my job, so it's hard to detach sometimes.

I feel bad bc my assertion seemed to make someone unwilling to defend his position walk away and not with any vigor explain why he believed something okay. And... each time he attempted, I pointed to specific language that indicated his position was either incorrect or flawed at best.

I am sometimes not as kind as I maybe ought to be.

    This is the dog I found on my deck last Tuesday and reluctantly turned her over to the pound. I only did it in case she had been stolen from someone. If all goes well, I adopt her tomorrow at 10am. She has a puncture wound on her left thigh and was bloated. Bloat has cleared up and thigh is healing.

    @Skepticat Good Morning Skepticat! I had two bad episodes yesterday, but today seems good so far so I'm running with it. I did open an account to explore an alternative way to navigate the Fediverse thanks to @jcrabapple and his much greater knowledge of all things Fediverse. It's a pretty slick user interface he's put together at shrediverse.social - plus the instance name is great for a guitarist (struggling one) like me.
