Ich hätte gerne Empfehlungen für eine Computermaus, die folgendes kann:

  • Bluetoothverbindung mit mindestens 2 jedoch lieber 3 verschiedenen Geräten, die ich z.B. per Knopfdruck umschalten kann
  • Funkverbindung per USB-Dongle
  • per USB aufladbar, also keine Batterien
  • mindestens eine Seitentaste für den Daumen, damit ich horizontal scrollen kann

Kurzfassung: 3×BT, 1×RF, USB-Ladung, hor. Scrollen

Bin kein Gamer, hab aber nur einen Schreibtisch mit 3 Computern (plus Server).

Ich würd gern werden. Die Suchmaske vom Arbeitsamt ist nicht besonders benutzungsfreundlich, über Instagram-Werbung find ich eher was brauchbares als dort.
Habt Ihr zufällig ne Empfehlung für n Remotekurs (möglichst in Teilzeit absolvierbar), der mehr als nur oberflächlichen Einstieg ermöglicht und mich tatsächlich zum Pentester ausbildet? Muss azav-zertifiziert sein, damit das Arbeitsamt es genehmigt.

Seit ein paar Wochen nutze ich privat das https://github.com/ronilaukkarinen/mastodon-bird-ui Theme von @rolle und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Es hat sowohl eine dunkle als auch eine helle Variante. Gibt es hier auf der Instanz Interesse, das Theme in den Mastodon-Settings zur Verfügung zu stellen oder sogar zum Standard zu machen?

Does anybody know, if automatic import into works in the meantime?

Last time I tried about 2 months ago it didn't. It imported lots of files, which clogged the timeline but weren't visible (broken link icon shown) but also weren't deletable. That's why I'm reluctant to try again.

Also nochmal die Frage an IT-Security-Bescheidwissende:
Mein Webserver muss zwingend ein DE haben (ja, ich weiss, ohne ist sicherer) und mir wurde aus Schlankheitsgründen Task-XFCE empfohlen. Die eigentliche Frage: Ist Cinnamon wirklich nennenswert unsicherer als XFCE?

Wahrscheinlich sehr blöde und naive Zusatzfrage: Alle meine Rechner haben DE und alle sind mit dem Internet verbunden. Ist das nicht genauso gefährlich? Warum isses da okay und beim Server nicht?

Der Tüp im Tutorialvideo kontextklickt einfach auf ne Zeile in der Datenbank und kann im Kontextmenü dann auf "save as insert statement" auswählen. Warum kann das dieses verflixte nicht?

Meh! Jetzt muss ich mir n anderes GUI für suchen, was das auch kann.

@michael Ja, genau das nutzt der auch. Ich hatte die Website nur kurz überflogen und wegen des hohen Preises sofort wieder weggeklickt.
Mal sehen, wann der Leidensdruck mit Workbench so groß wird, dass ich schließlich doch das Geld für ne Tableplus Lizenz ausgeb.

@michael hm, hab's jetzt trotzdem installiert und bisher vermiss ich keine Funktionen. Ich bin mal gespannt, ob die "trial version for evaluation purposes" zeitlich begrenzt ist. Erwähnt wird das jedenfalls nicht.
Und wenn es dann doch was wird, mit dem Job, kann der Chef bezahlen. ;-)

Dear LAPTOP designers,

it is called LAPTOP for a reason. It sits on TOP of my LAP. So there really is one and only one place where you can't and absolutely shouldn't place ventilation grilles, which is the bottom of the LAPTOP. Because it sits on TOP of my LAP. Any orifice in the bottom of the LAPTOP will be obstructed by my LAP, on TOP of which the LAPTOP sits. It's really not that complicated.

Wie kann ich eigentlich bewerkstelligen, dass Apps in Android (bzw. @iodetech_de) AN/AKTIV bleiben? Was nützt mir die Fritz App Fon, wenn Anrufe nicht signalisiert werden, weil die App im Hintergrund deaktiviert wird? Selbiges gilt für Phone Track in Nextcloud. Das sind zwei Apps, die IMMER laufen müssen. IMMER. Früher ging das, dann (glaub ab Android 10 oder 11) wurde das verunmöglicht.

Ich brauch da dringend mal Hilfe, bitte!

It's worth keeping in mind that in ARPANET days (the direct ancestor of the Internet), we were largely ignored by AT&T et al. because they had their own plans for public networking that would follow the telephone model -- pay per minute of connect time and per kilopacket sent or received, etc.

That the ARPANET model would succeed was not at all guaranteed, and in fact seemed extraordinarily unlikely at times. Just a minor change here or there in the timeline and most of what we take for granted now on the Net would not exist in any kind of recognizable form.

The rise of advertiser-supported services is largely what made most of the modern Internet possible, and those persons and organizations who routinely block or rant against advertising have yet to offer an alternative funding model to keep this stuff going that wouldn't make the current digital divide look like a pimple compared with their Mt. Everest of user charges that would be necessary if the advertising model collapses.

@resuna no, that was the arpanet. also it is irrelevant. But let me ask the other way round — can you give an example for such a precious ad-financed web-service that the internet would be so unbearable without? preferably one that definitely wouldn't exist without ads (or capitalism if you must)? and please one that didn't oust a same or similar service without ads? @lauren

@resuna It was the change from arpanet protocol to internet protocol that coined the name internet. And it happened during the transition from derelict arpanet to the thing that wen know as internet today. Citing C.S. Lewis will not change historical facts just as all the Narnia bs will not change that he is one of my favourite writers.
I'll take your denial to believe that I might be old enough to have lived during the relevant time as a compliment, tho.

@resuna Oh, come on, seriously? Are we splitting hairs or are we trying to respect each other? Of course there was no Arpanet Protocol. For the sake of shortness I used this term instead of "the different protocols that were used while arpanet was still a thing" because I assumed you were not just being interested in trolling and wasting my time. I still am, actually.

@resuna which was early 80s if I recall correctly, and at which point arpanet became but a subnet of the early "internet". Not the same thing. But now I'm splitting hair.

@resuna That's where I'll never stop contradicting. arpanet was meant to provide the us military with an advantage in warfare, that's not what "our internet" was intended and opened to the civilian public for. Reducing that gigantic difference to "name change" borders revisionism.

Something invented to kill people was redesigned to unite people. Something despicable was turned into something decent. That's NOT a name change.

Oh, I confess, it took me way to long to realise, you were trolling all along and not at all interested in telling the truth.

I guess the Pershing missiles stationed in Europe in the 80s were also only for scientific reasons. And not from the military, since it were, at least partly, civilian truck drivers that brought them. These mass destruction weapons must have been there for public transport reasons or something like that.
