Corkyskog,

Does Linux do steam games? Can it easily find the movies I already downloaded? Complete noob.

Corkyskog,

I assume the government gets a product exempted from this feature, or do they too have to do all the work to disable it?

Corkyskog,

They are just movie files, saved in a folder. Nothing complicated, will Linux be able to find that folder or files?

Corkyskog,

Wow, you somehow answered my follow up before I could even ask it.

My main goal was to eventually do a plex or jellyfin type setup for the house. Good to hear that it works just as well on Linux. Is the setup more difficult, or are there enough guides and documentation that it’s not too bad?

Corkyskog,

Oh. I just assumed it was milk with pickle juice in it and was wondering what technique they used to prevent it from curdling.

Corkyskog,

They are really trying to push people to Linux aren’t they?

Instagram's unskippable ads test causes outrage among users (www.techspot.com)

Instagram has long been accused of stealing features from platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter/X. It appears that the company has looked to YouTube for its latest idea: unskippable ads that you have to watch for a period of time before being able to scroll further....

Corkyskog,

It breaks the scrolling, breaking user experience.

Corkyskog,

Why? Are they afraid UN peace keeping forces would be deployed or that the US would step in?

Corkyskog,

This is crazy!

I have so many questions, but lack the technical know how of how to ask them.

Corkyskog,

This is why I want to reintroduce dangerous predators. They won’t be so focused on liberals or immigrants when you have to fight off saber tooth Tigers on your way to your car. Then get to work and worry about raptor ambushes in the main parking lot, or cave bears in the garage.

Corkyskog, (edited )

You don’t know how much they sold. This could be a fence operation that just grew large.

Thiefs don’t find a buyer everytime they steal something, they go to their “fence” who resells it. Say something is worth $200 used, the fence will pay like half or a third of the value in cash right away, every time. The thief walks away with $80 they can go spend on drugs, and the fence eventually makes $120. Reselling takes time though, and your thiefs keep thieving. If you tell your thief “I can’t buy this today” they will find another fence and you might lose that thief forever. Maybe more thieves if they find out they are a better fence. So you just keep buying stuff, even if your not selling it nearly as fast.

Netanyahu and Putin are both waiting for Trump (www.washingtonpost.com)

Netanyahu reportedly met this month with three foreign policy envoys working with former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump — who could yet win the election despite being convicted Thursday on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in his New York state hush money case....

Corkyskog,

I think he will just keep going no matter who is in charge. Exterminating a population of millions is hard and takes unrelenting effort. People are resourceful and go to great lengths not to die.

Corkyskog,

Whatever happened with that? When do they start liquidating property?

Corkyskog,

When so much is multi-player now, the cross platform stuff sucks on console. Average PC players are gods compared to using a regular controller on console.

Corkyskog,

They should be able to vote in jail too. Otherwise an authoritarian could just lock up their political opponents, especially in swing states.

Corkyskog,

It’s crazy how this all probably rests on the jury convincing that one male juror who gets all his news from Facebook and Truth Social

Corkyskog,

Probably because Putin threatened it. But he also threatens it on basically everyday that ends in a Y… so not sure how credible that threat is.

Corkyskog,

Eh, it will never be accomplished anyway. Trump promised so much shit that never happened. Only some of his promises to rich people came true.

'Confused' Judge Cannon needed concept explained 'slowly' to her in court by lawyers: NYT (www.rawstory.com)

As part of an analysis of how U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Judge Aileen Cannon, reports from her courtroom show a judge who is both “prickly” and" insecure" and often has trouble understanding what lawyers from both sides try to explain to her....

Corkyskog,

I also don’t think it’s too high of a bar for the public to want a judge not appointed by the defendant for a criminal trial.

Corkyskog,

Candidates stopped being honest after Bork got borked.

Corkyskog,

When I first acquired it, I wasn’t aware of a place to even check it’s value. There was this old game called Dragon Tales, where you could gamble whole BTC on things like kicking a coconut tree to see if 0-4 BTC worth of coconuts would fall…

Corkyskog,

So the crime rate was probably even higher before smart phones and social media.
