Well, fuck.

Just been informed by my GP practice's pharmacist that there's now a national (UK) shortage of Rybelsus, aka Semaglutide, my most effective diabetes medication, that's likely to last into 2024. Influencers have been boosting it as a weight loss drug (it's the same drug—in tablet form—as Ozembic/Wegovy) and private clinics are buying up all the stock for image-conscious idiots, depriving diabetics of access.

(I have 12 weeks in the cupboard, then I may lose access for months.)

This morning I am mostly irked with other members of staff who were supposed to do the job I now do, but didn't really.

In particular, we use an online safety training provider. They have hundreds of courses that we have access to, so we assign relevant ones to employees and ask them to complete them.

Except what's actually happened is that our H&S manager has more or less clicked 'select all' > 'assign all', and considered that a good job well done.

I once again need to stand before you to issue an apology. To @guffo and to the Irish in general.

In typing my previous mea culpa, I accidentally typo'd a word that could be taken as a slur towards the Irish.

This was not my intention, though was very much the outcome of my fat fingers being made of bullshit, and I am sorry.

I understand if you think that my racial slurs might be a deep-seated part of my Englishness, but I'm working hard on suppressing that part of my nature.

I have to stand up in my big boy pants, and admit I was wrong.

In my previous post, I referred to a Badass Fiat Cinquecento. It is, of course, a Badass Fiat Seicento.

I have reflected on my wrong-doing, and am disappointed that I've let down my followers; good, upstanding people who follow me because of my rigorous standards, and adherence to the truth at all times.

I have broken their trust, and hope that one day I may earn it back.

I am sorry.

Well, just hooked it up to one of the ancient Windows machines in my training room, and half an hour later it's gone from Android 4 to Android 7...

@witewulf Tbh, I don't know. I know nothing about Android, so just followed a guide on YouTube. It's worked, but left me with an install that has a bunch of Google alternatives.

This kind of thing is why I tend to avoid Android. It's users are hard for customisation, but I find all that stuff really besides the point.

Of course it’s not that easy though.

It seems that the Android ROM I installed doesn’t have the stock Google Apps installed, which makes life a little trickier.

@crinolinerobot Yeah, I enjoy Gaiman's writing well enough, but it's fair to say that Terry almost certainly humanised the story. So I'm sure that John will provide the same balance.

When it was announced, I saw a lot of people griping that Terry's dead, and how could Neil possibly write a suitable sequel.

Well, the pair of them had already sketched out a second book, so I'm assuming this follows that. Then Neil got John Finnemore on board, and as soon as I saw that, I was doubly sold. Finnemore is wonderful. Also, Rob Wilkins is an executive producer, and few knew Terry as well as Rob.

Anyway, been to the dr this morning.

I aten't dead yet.

What I do have though, is an increase to my meds dosage. Which is nice. Always feel like I'm trying to scam more drugs when I request a dosage increase.

Rather pleased that I passed the blood pressure test with flying colours too. The dr I saw is a bugger for suggesting that my weight is a contributing factor.
