U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson plans to hold separate votes this week on new assistance packages for Israel and Ukraine, aiming to assemble fragile coalitions to support both embattled allies.
When sorting by hot, I get posts with 1 upvote and no comments near the top. And it is above a post from the same community (nieuws) that has 2 upvotes. Seems to be broken.
I agree with your definition of hot. My view is that a 10 minute old post with a single upvote does not meet that definition. The one upvote a post gets when it is created does not mean positive interaction. Too much bias towards new and not enough towards upvote count. Edit: This lemmy doc confirms it is intentional. And a lemmy issue, not voyager specific.

There are about a dozen worldnews communities. The beauty of the fediverse some would say, but in my view it is one of the weaknesses. So kill off one of the two, just leave a post referring to the other.

While there are some bubbles that need popping, especially in board rooms - i work for a large tech company that has not fired anyone because of AI. Rather the opposite, we have been expanding our AI team in the last 5+ years and have delivered succesful AI products. There is a lot more to AI than ChatGPT. Which, while impressive as a proof of concept, is not actually useful to business.
So people throw out disposable vapes all the time. I cracked one open to take a look and it turns out they have a 18500 battery in it. So I was thinking of 3D printing a spacer to make it the same size as a 18650 and putting some shrink wrap on them. I just wanted to see what people who know more than me think. Is this a bad...
Rubbish. Many high performance flashlights won’t even work properly with protected cells, they need more amps and trip the protection. Unprotected cells are perfectly fine providing you use a proper charger and don’t short circuit them. That is assuming you use good quality cells, I would not trust what is in a disposable vape.
So are these council officers now getting police level authority? Will we be legally required to give our name and address to these council officers? What could possibly go wrong if we delegate authority to fine and prosecute to council staff?
So far there’s subscriptions for cruise control, adaptive beams, various navigation options, apple/google integration and my favorite, dual-zone climate.
I am ok with a charge for things that require the manufacturer to run a server. But only if that charge is related to the actual cost , and that cost is unavoidable. Regarding that last point: my Garmin satnav lets me use my own mobile data to get live traffic information. Car makers don’t give you that option.
Nope. Read the first line of the article. Apple CarPlay won’t work unless you pay Audi a subscription fee. I’m not surprised, I had an A3 a few years ago and that already had subscriptions built in. But they came with a 3 year license and Audi UK would extend that for a year at a time, free of charge as they had not worked out how to charge for it. They have worked it out now.
Just commit, no matter the response. Adding /s is akin to explaining a joke after you tell it. If someone doesn’t understand or pick up on the sarcasm, it’s not your responsibility to spell it out for them. You add /s because you don’t want to be held accountable.
I know there are other ways of accomplishing that, but this might be a convenient way of doing it. I’m wondering though if Reddit is still reverting these changes?
Maybe you should read them. They are not claiming ownership. They are claiming that you licenced them to use your contributions for whatever purpose they want. Different thing.
