It does damage the follicle but the damage is small enough that the hair will still be able to grow back, but if you keep doing it over and over that damage will eventually add up and it will damage it enough that the hair won’t grow back, it takes a long time to do that though, especially because most undesirable hair is thicker and therefore more resilient to that kind of damage.
Have they given a reason why the specifically not able to do it, or do they just not want to do it because it’s “unlicensed” or “out of spec” if it’s just the second option then it’s a problem of having unwilling people and not a real entry barrier.
If there’s an actual barrier to developing something like that it’s important to understand what it is.
FYI that feature isn’t the same as defederation, not by a long shot:
Users can now block instances. Similar to community blocks, it means that any posts from communities which are hosted on that instance are hidden. However the block doesn’t affect users from the blocked instance, their posts and comments can still be seen normally in other communities.
It’s only really for communities on the Instance. So if the issue is something like Hexbear’s spam or harassment, a problem with users of a particular instance then this feature won’t help. So it’s still important to consider whether instances have defederated in these cases,
If you’re like me and don’t want to wait for long awaited features like scaled sorting, try the nightly version. It installs as a separate app next to Eternity stable. So in case it crashes you can always go back to stable.
I’m still using it, I really don’t like Voyager’s interface or IOS themed buttons, the “android mode” doesn’t really do anything either to fix it, just changes the switches.
I guess it’s good to know that @bazsalanszky is still working on it, still hoping we can get a few of those updates in the full release soon, even just a few bug fixes here and there would be nice.
sh.itjust.works Managed to finish in only 27 minutes which was much sooner than the estimated time. Lemmy.world might finish quickly too, estimated time is just a maximum, it isn’t always going to be the amount of time it will take.
I guess it’s kind of like how they allowed ads for crap like “what is a woman”. At the end of the day it’s all alt-right propaganda that they are putting out either to get people to join their side or to make it seem like their side is correct.
Oh also Absgender and Isogender, those could also fit, though these are [gender modalities]((mogai.miraheze.org/wiki/Gender_Modality), not necessarily gender identities (you would be a gender identity that is under these modalities i.e. Someone may identify as Agender, under the Absgender modality).
One example I can think of is how cis people (usually cis males) who choose to crossdress are often misgendered, made fun of, and told they must not be cis because of how they dress.
Though I’m not really sure if this actually counts because these issues I described also affect trans people who are gender Non-Conforming, in very similar ways.
What’s more likely is that their comment is just a funny joke, where they swapped the roles of cis and trans in the passage and the joke part is that it sounds absurd and isn’t supposed to make sense.
I think you’re misunderstanding, this isn’t a raspberry Pi type emulation device, this is a hardware clone of the chips in a real GBC, it even plays the original cartridges, and also flashcarts (well mostly, there’s a few kinks there because it’s new).
With the advent of Reddit going public and selling user data an opportunity has arisen. I still consume Reddit from time to time and noticed in the threads about these things that a lot of displeased users were there. But when they ask what alternatives there are, lemmy is barely mentioned at all. So if you’re still on there,...
Also people could be misled into thinking it’s a “free speech” platform (and end up attracting the people we really don’t want), or end up thinking it’s “complicated”, both of which would not be desirable.
I don’t think really anything, it just takes more effort and they’d need to change the domain every time they get blocked. I have seen a few services hosted solely for spam and bad faith practices, though they were Mastodon, Plemora, and Kbin servers, not Lemmy.
Indeed it is. Unfortunately though it’s also important enough that it means people will go along with fascist stuff if the “security” excuse is used, and people who stand up to it will be mocked and ridiculed at best, or be accused of being cyber attackers at worst.
The trick is you have to do it on an Instance with the correct demographic, also make sure to use tools like LCB to get them out to other instances, so they’ll appear in search.
Same with plastic companies trying to encourage plastic recycling, they’re only doing it because the real solution is to ban or regulate their business.
@snek Maybe you could Crosspost this to !politicalmemes if you’re on mobile and don’t have crosspost button just make a new post using the same link as this post https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/20e095d5-b044-4e69-b1d7-486f63ac3037.png and it’ll count as a crosspost. So long as it’s the same link.
Mastodon is a great platform. I have an account there, and I have been using it as a twitter replacement for several months. I have been using nostr for around two months. I have also read fairly deeply into how Mastodon and Nostr work. I think nostr is better. Here’s why....
Don’t forget about the alt-right trolls and conspiracy theorists, they love it there because nobody can ban or censor them from there. On Nostr these people run wild.
Very true, ActivityPub is for building communities.
Nostr is for free speech and user choice but also sucks for building communities because the loudest and most mean people are the ones who dominate the space.
Why is it so satusfying when you pluck a hair out and you get the whole waxxy follicle/root?

It was initially used by BP to shift blame to consumers instead of oil companies.
It was in self-defence 🙃
I love Mastodon and ActivityPub. But I think Nostr is going to win. Here's why.
