This was not news 20 years ago, and it is not really news today. These are people willing to destroy everything for just a few dollars more. You can argue that if it was not them, then it would be someone else. But that is why the system needs to be dismantled. Capitalism will fight any attempt towards fixing climate change. Systems wants to sustain themselves, if a sick system is causing damages, then it needs to go. It is the only way.

I am not sure I believe that, it might be that bots can be active again now that the subreddits are reopened, but I know that I am not back. And I won’t be back, and I think a lot of people are staying away as well. That the traffic is now normal seems a bit sketchy.
I keep thinking this would have been a much better sell to devs and to users. I have always used Sync, and Boost. I tried the official app a few times, but really only used it for the chat feature. I didn't want to pay for it, but (I am embarrassed to admit it) I would pay premium to keep my app. I think this would have worked...
Hah, no. Are you asking if I want to pay for access to a platform that is already dependant on its users to create or aggregate content, while they are already making ad money off my eyeballs? Heck, no, never. If that site cannot make enough money on ads alone, while being one /were of the most visited non-porn sites on the internet, then maybe they should reconsider their other expenses. E.x. Is it really necessary to have a downtown office in an expensive us city, or pay out high CEO wages. I can only really conclude that they are being stupid about this. If they want me back, they are going to have to beg.
We as a community must stop recommending Signal. For far too long we have blindly followed this app without a second thought. It has created a cult of followers, when there are much better apps out there for us to use....
I didn't know that, habitica seemed like one of those silly and fun places on the internet that managed to make it in these days of commodifying everything. I am sad to hear trust and community was taken advantage of again
