I created this project some years back and the project just reached v1.1.0. I know most people have jellyfin servers and all set up, but if you have just a local folder of all your series saved up, you can use this to remember what you were watching....
You are clearly not aware of the windfall profits corporations are making, and that they are then passing exactly none of it on to the workers generating that profit
I saw someone on lemmy recently say they dislike when game reviewers say that “this game is like another game”, it’s prerequisite knowledge that not everyone has, and it’s lazy writing to boot. Since I read that comment it’s been irking me as well…
I’ve gotten into Wasteland 2 recently, I love Bryan Fargo and Chris Avellone’s work, and so far it’s holding up. I’m coming off of a Shadowrun: Dragonfall playthrough, so apparently I’m in a CRPG mood at the moment.
I didn’t down vote, but I’d assume that people on lemmy skew towards a dislike of centralised corporate structures, especially when they’re pushing a subscription service in place of game ownership, and so they’re not so much disagreeing with you as they are simply upset by what you’re saying. Of course, I may be wrong on that. Personally I think it could go either way, I think their aquisitions have not yielded the return that they may have hoped for, and I really hope that gamepass fails, but it doesn’t seem like it will. Que sera sera I suppose.
Does every PeerTube instance store all other instances’ content metadata (title, description, comments)? Would federating virtually with YouTube (through a YouTube frontend like Piped) give a too high ammount of data to store on other instances?
As of June 2022, more than 500 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute. If that video is stored at 6Mb/s, a conservative estimate, that equates to about 10TB a minute. Obviously you wouldn’t want everything, but it’s still way more than the peertube network could handle in it’s current form I’m sure. I cannot fathom the amount of data that Big Datatm handles, the fact that most of the services are free makes me highly suspicious.
I’d only recommend Duolingo to dip a toe in. If after awhile you’re wanting a bit more, I’ve had a good experience with Deutsch Welle’s german course. Also Babel is excellent but pricey.
I want to move away from Cloudflare tunnels, so I rented a cheap VPS from Hetzner and tried to follow this guide. Unfortunately, the WireGuard setup didn’t work. I’m trying to forward all traffic from the VPS to my homeserver and vice versa. Are there any other ways to solve this issue?...
