Considering that, according to them… he made everything and everyone cuz he was bored and lonely. (Yup. We’re a mid-life crisis puppy.)

Now, remember that he’s all knowing and omnipotent and like, exists outside of time. Such a being would therefore have known they’d eat the damn fruit. More importantly, any being with more awareness than a turnip would have seen that one coming, even if they didn’t see it literally coming. You know what I mean.

So this means it was all part of the plan. Which means the plan was, for this supposedly all-powerful, all-knowing being to come down here and LARP the white knight.

A feud is heating up between Arizona workers and the world's leading chipmaker after the company claimed the US doesn't have the skills to build its new factory (www.businessinsider.com)

TSMC says the opening of its Arizona chip factory has been delayed due to a shortage of skilled workers. The company says it needs to bring Taiwanese workers to Arizona to get construction back on track. An Arizona union says US jobs are being threatened — and is urging lawmakers to deny the workers’ visas.

YUP. all this, and also, probably, that the Union labor is more likely to refuse not building things to code. (edit, fixed a typo. thank you @mind)

they’re talking about building the facility. which includes a shit load of plumbing. between all the high-purity water line, the chemical line. the gas line. the everything else to feed the machines… yeah. they’re gonna need pipefitters

Land mines are designed to only be found when they go boom.

There are devices and such like designed to do exactly that- but land mines are fundamentally designed to make that not easy. It takes a lot of people, a lot of effort and a lot of time to clear just a single small stretch of field.

They’re also using African pouch rats in places to smell the - and the little fellas are both cute and heroic!

Don’t pay anybody in advance. And don’t ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

It could never be that easy. I mean, they’d have to admit they were WRONG.

I’m all for enforcing immigration- but there also needs to be a realistic path to citizenship.

Especially because companies are bringing them up and exploiting them knowing they can’t easily go to the authorities

How is this guy deluded enough to think he’s a democrat?

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

if you’re doing frequent backups, make very sure to have multiple copies of backups. You get a virus into your backups, that does no good if it’s your only back up.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

honestly, I’m rooting for the chair. or something. That way, they both get bitch slapped into oblivion.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

this is a bit inaccurate. The guy saying it’s a problem for biden is a republican(as in… former ethics advisor to W.)

Biden’s son’s criminal issues won’t sway democrats or swing voters away. because most people are seeing the lengths they’re going… and so far the only evidence they have on things is decades-old-crimes that most rich people would have just had to pay a bribe to get out of.

republicans are stupid enough think this whataboutism- the vast majority of which wouldn’t stand up in any semi-legitimate courtroom anyhow- is enough to save trump. and it’s simply not.

take solace in knowing that it’s not actually half the population.

a fair number are just straight up assholes. Like the Koch family. who find it’s more cost effective to buy off legislators (and trump,) to deregulate than it is to not fucking pollute the world. Or, that pastor who just got bought off by DeSantis for votes, that are actively telling their people to vote for him in iowa. for about 90k?

FuglyDuck,

this. coming into money doesn’t change who you are. It magnifies who you’ve always been. Sure, people can change, but it isn’t the money doing it.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

the change in empathy has more to do with the change in social circumstances than it does a change in personality. This is part of what I mean by it magnifies who you really are. You see, when you’re poor you need the help of others- be it welfare, or more social assistance (parents watching kids, etc) you need that help.
So, you tend to give assistance with the expectation of social reciprocity.

It’s social reciprocity at play here… when you become rich, you don’t need to rely on it, so you don’t. Epitomy of “Got mine, fuck you”

FuglyDuck,

you have to use the secret code, anyhow. Good luck getting Jimmy to give you the code.

Either is bad. But spitting can lead to transmission of things like hep c and hiv.

The consequences of a bottle to the head are pretty immediate so most people gon”oh that’s bad”. But spitting is just seen as offensive and people who are “okay” with it doesn’t understand the risks- and we have no way of knowing what they’re carrying, so we have to assume… everything

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

… dunno what you’re planning… but usually things are done in much smaller lots. Regular but more frequent shipments.

A ship full of wax is a lot of wax. You’d have to arrange for shipping - possibly international shipping…- and transport from the port to your warehouse etc.

There’s a lot of overhead for something you’re probably not going to be able to use much more than a few pallets at a time anyhow.

Assuming your making something to sell…Keep in mind there’s a lot of overhead for product you may go out of business before you can fully use.

Or they can work with a local supplier who handles acquireing and shipping to you. Less expensive unless your amazon, too.

It is important to note that trump still has the right to due process under s2 of the 14th, and will probably be the grounds for dismissal if there isn’t some sort of court hearing.

The NM case probably sets some precedent saying he doesn’t have to be convicted …. But I have no confidence in SCROTUS

3 former GOP operatives to pay $50K for roles in a fake charity tied to E. Palestine derailment (apnews.com)

Three men who have worked as Republican political operatives agreed to pay more than $50,000 in restitution and penalties in Ohio for their roles in operating a phony charity that collected cash purportedly to help victims of the East Palestine train derailment.
