What if "" is just a euphemism for "boring?"

GLFC,
@GLFC@mstdn.starnix.network avatar

@RL_Dane what if "neurodivergent" is just a euphemism for "everybody has their own unique quirks and issues, but I just want everyone to let me live live on easy mode."

I can not imagine how much more messed up in the head I'd be if I'd been born 20 years later.

GLFC,
@GLFC@mstdn.starnix.network avatar

@RL_Dane Eh, sorry, it wasn't meant as a personal attack. I just see what's happening to kids today and it infuriates me. Kids that are just like I was as a kid are being shoved onto medication and told they have all of these mental illnesses, and are definitely part of a unique and special sexual community.

I still carry the scars from my school years - bullied for any number of causes, real and imagined. Learning to deal with that kind of thing is often part of becoming an adult. Nowadays a kid in that position is fed mental health propaganda, shoved into some LGBT club, and pumped full of drugs and medical experiments instead of learning to cope and becoming confident in the truth.

I purchased a portable gravity water filter for my next DEFCON trip, I will not be a schmuck spending so much money on bottled water to pour into my 511 hydration pack in my backpack. I'm just going to filter it in the hotel room and call it a day.

I like to make sure all my trip supplies are ordered and prepared one month in advance so I can focus on small odds and ends. I usually also have a bag packed 3 days before departure so I can double and triple check.

GLFC,
@GLFC@mstdn.starnix.network avatar

@chiefgyk3d I took a filter last time around, but found that, since I ended up placing a walmart delivery anyway, buying a case of water cost like $5 and meant I didn't have to fool with it.

I'm not going this year because work decided to cut my travel and training budget, again.

GLFC,
@GLFC@mstdn.starnix.network avatar

@chiefgyk3d Yeah, the delivery worked out pretty well. I spent about $80 and had water, snacks, and a couple of meals worth of food delivered to my room. It really let me stretch things while I was there and was way cheaper than buying stuff in the area.

If you think really did , but you refuse to take the very real, very believable issues around the presidency seriously, you're just an empty gong.

I didn't vote Trump either time, but anyone can see he's being railroaded.

Come on infosec people, you know the signs of social engineering/phishing. High stakes, time constraints, call to action. You're not being smart, you're being a mark.

If you cannot articulate your opponent's position as they would articulate it, you are not qualified to have an opinion on that person or able to have a rational debate. Reductive malicious catch phrases like "Don't Say Gay BIll" or "Republicans want to ban books" are great slogans for ginning up emotional reactions, but don't describe the intent or heart behind the actions. Exactly -zero- Republicans I've ever met want to actually ban books. I've run into more on the Left who want to control speech than vice versa.

I'm horrified by the idea of either the swamp things on the Republican side or the Comrades in the Democrat party taking complete control. The result is the same - "A boot standing on a human face - forever."

A new Rise of the Triad beta leak is here! This time it's from July of 94, six months before the shareware release. Lots of small differences, especially as far as graphical assets go, and the female enemies that never made it into the final version are still present:

@dosnostalgic was without a doubt my favorite game of the era. The taunts were epic in a time before voice chat.

Hey, old people like me!
You know how you look back on that old 486 gaming computer and think "That was awesome in its day, but it's useless now..."?
When will we say that about the SteamDeck, do you think?

GLFC,
@GLFC@mstdn.starnix.network avatar

@popey the 486 is repairable, by and large, with many interchangeable parts. Can't say the same about the Deck. It'll be more like a cell phone.
