Bon c’est un poil chiant que si on parle dans un thread lemmy depuis pleroma, on ne reçoive pas les réponses vu que Lemmy ne cite/mentionne pas lors d’une réponse. :-/

@lord au passage, c'est un truc que j'ai vraiment du mal à comprendre et qui est une UX terrible, d'où ça vient cette idée de citer automatiquement dans les réponses ?

On se retrouve à avoir des notifications pour rien dans des threads. ActivityPub indique déjà le message parent quand on fait une réponse, pourquoi citer en plus ?

@breizh @lord si tu réponds explicitement à une personne je peux comprendre, mais les fils sont en arbre, ton client pourrait surveiller explicitement les fils de commentaires où tu as participé. Ce qui me gêne avec les mentions automatique, c'est que tu retrouves avec des notifs sur des fils parfois interminables alors que t'as rien demandé. C'est à l'utilisateur·ice de choisir ce pourquoi ille veut être notifié·e, pas au soft qui envoie le commentaire.

@breizh @lord juste pour être plus clair: je pense qu'il ne faudrait pas de notif du tout (pas de notif, ni de pseudo ajouté automatiquement), et que le soft devrait savoir si on souhaite être notifié ou pas en fonction de l'arbre des commentaire. Si on veut explicitement citer quelqu'un·e, alors OK, mais pas automatiquement.

@breizh @lord c'est un peu des pansements sur une jambe de bois. C'est quand même anormal qu'il faille manuellement enlever des mentions, de mon point de vue en tout cas.

@Julianoe j'ai pas de marque à conseiller, mais j'ai acheté il y a quelques années une souris verticale bas de gamme, que j'utilise tous les jours, sauf quand je veux faire du travail graphique style Gimp/Blender, et ça soulage pas mal. C'est couplé à un tapis avec repose poignet.

Pour ton autre message, j'ai eu de la casse, mais une souris ça se répare souvent très facilement (molette réparée en un coup de colle, boutons remplacés par ceux d'une vieille souris).

@tuxicoman @danie10 For the record, I'll be working on remote desktop control via XMPP thank to the grant I currently receive (https://nlnet.nl/project/Libervia-AV/). Indeed XMPP has already everything for authentication, e2ee, stream connecting, video transfer, etc.

Fun fact: XEP-0070 (Verifying HTTP Requests via XMPP) should work with the <=> gateway as there is a plain body fallback mechanism. This can be used to authenticate an ActivityPub (such as ) user on an HTTP website. So implementing XEP-0070 would work both for XMPP and AP.

I haven't tried, but reading an other thread about authentication made me realize that.

Recommendations, please, for making an #XMPP audio/video call work between:

  • a user on iOS and a user on Android

  • a user on iOS and a user on Linux

Messaging works fine, as does a/v between Linux and Android, but I have yet to find a combination which works for audio / video with an iOS device in the mix.

@neil if you self host (or not), #Snikket works quite well, which is based on #Siskin IM on #iOS and #Conversations on #Android. On GNU/Linux, #Dino is working, otherwise #Movim and #Converse should work (web clients). I believe they all work between themselves (for one2one calls).

Be sure to have an XMPP server with STUN/TURN activated (it's precious to cross NAT/Firewalls).

For the record, I'm implementing A/V calls in #Libervia too, thanks to an #NLnet grant.

(XEP-0373, XEP-0374: for , without security problems of historical XEP-0027) implementation has been merged to , thanks to Syndace again, and for their funding.

OX doesn't have PFS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_secrecy) but that means that new devices can access archives, which may be desirable. Also, it can encrypt arbitrary elements.

It is also a brick for incoming feature such as .
