Growing vegetables organically, advocate of #organicgardening. Seeing the world anew through the eyes of our 4 and a half year old granddaughter; yet worrying about the world we are leaving her.

The Labour Party, selecting General Election candidates, should be wary of ignoring the voters of 2019 - 10,295,912 who voted Labour, “for the many, not the few.” The House of Commons arithmetic disguises the fact that more people voted against Conservatives than for them. If the party does not welcome Corbyn or Abbott, how much of a home will it be for the voters it needs? Please don’t throw out the baby with the bath water, the UK needs change!

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious Democracy is a pretty slippery term, but a voting system which puts the power of elective dictatorship into the hands of a party which doesn’t even achieve a majority of votes cast does nothing but deepen a sense of alienation and distrust. #UK #Election #FPTP

A question to gardeners. Have you noticed any changes in your garden because of climate change. Are you planning or planting or doing anything differently in you garden because of climate change. (Examples in the UK: grass mowing later in year and aphids appearing earlier). (I just asked this on Bluesky also).

I really don’t get this! A country crying out for something better, different and transformative, yet the Labour Party seems to be looking for reasons for us to think “Why bother?” Manage expectations, yes, but please don’t kill hope.

That Braverman column.

Either it is consequential (in that she is sacked) or it is significant (in what it tells us about a government which does not sack her).

I know little about Israel/Palestine/Gaza (and so am not commentating on that directly) but I do know something about Ireland, and that column is unacceptable.

@davidallengreen I don’t know if you saw an interview with Mark Harper (Secretary of State for Transport) on #BBC Breakfast TV this morning. He passed up several opportunities to say either he backed #SuellaBraverman or that he agreed with her #hate march language.
