We are going to update Codeberg to v7 within the next hour. This will involve a short downtime of about 10 minutes.

We apologize if this causes a disruption to your workflows today.

I finally bought a dual monitor stand! It's incredible how much space I gained on my desk, under the displays!

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@elbullazul the setup was quite easy: assemble a few pieces, tighten a few screws, etc. The most difficult part was cable management and fine tuning the position of the stand and of each monitor until the displays are in their perfect position.

I'm having fun with @meshtastic!

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@mike @meshtastic It's really easy to get started if you get boards that are already supported by the project like those Lilygo T-Beam : flash the firmware, connect from Chromium or the Android app and send messages from one board to the other !

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@mike @meshtastic not yet, I tested them in my house and small garden 😅

Fediverse, I need you to do your magic and assist me with Actual Intelligence. If you work for a company that produces software, please tell me your job title and what it consists of. Bonus points if the software created is NOT open-source.

Extra bonus points if you tag people who do a job that doesn't usually come to mind when thinking about software!

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@thibaultamartin Senior Software Engineer. I design, develop, maintain & document software modules, integrate modules from other teams, ensure that my modules are integrated and working well in applications, I build automated test framework & CI, I diagnose and debug issues detected internally or on the field and probably many other tasks.
My company does not work on FOSS, unfortunately.

My @matrix home server is running for more than 1 year and a half on my @PINE64 board without any issue.
It was initially supposed to be just an experiment, but it worked so well that I continued to use it until now!

Today, I decided to move it to a cloud server to make the maintenance easier, and to solve some issues on my home network (the Matrix traffic seem to overwhelm my poor little router).

Meet me on @JF:matrix.codingfield.com !

0.78 is now available in . It fixes the OTA with and also integrates the new weather service added in InfiniTime 1.14!

@PINE64

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@ahoneybun You first need to install gadgetbridge 0.78 and a supported weather provider (https://gadgetbridge.org/basics/integrations/weather/). I personally use Tiny Weather Forecast Germany (TWFG).

When configured correctly, gagdgetbridge will send the weather info from TWFG to InfiniTime.

In InfiniTime, the weather is available only on the PineTimeStyle (PTS) watchface. You can enable it by long-tapping on the PTS watch face, tap the gear icon and then tap "weather" to enable/disable the weather info display.

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@Billie @ahoneybun Nice to meet the author of !

Yeah, the weather feature is often requested, and I'm happy that FOSS projects make it possible!

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@FreePietje Yes, the Rock5B was also on the list. Both boards look very similar, indeed.

I eventually chose the orangepi because it has 2 2.5Gbe interfaces and a nice case :)

They said the would last about a week??

I'm running custom firmware written using @TinyGo. Admittedly I haven't been using the watch a lot, but BLE, the touchscreen, and the step counter have all been enabled this time.

(It says InfiniTime only because that's what Gadgetbridge scans for, it's not actually running InfiniTime).

JF,
@JF@mastodon.codingfield.com avatar

@ayke Amazing! I'll definitely try to attend to your talk!
