If frozen - 325F to defrost them.

Then if you have a "grate" - lay the strips "through" the grate so they are hanging down. This is best - as grease just runs off into bottom.

If no grate - just lay them on the normal bottom tray that has slots punched - and then every couple of minutes give it a shake to have the grease get off the top of the flat strips.

I've never liked "floppy" bacon, so I use Air fry setting of 390F for about 8 minutes - gets them close to crispy....

With Air Fry -and the fan in it going - I never worried about flipping them...

Just check every now and then - to suit.

Safety warning...
Don't set it long. Don't walk away. Don't forget it is going.

Make sure they are 2 to 3 inches below element. You don't want splatter to get a fire to happen.

I only do 8 to 10 strips at a time - so no "whole pack"...

Ahh yes. I looked at the large toaster oven style.

But we got the circular Ninja in 2019... so when it came time to replace- we got their newer 2 bucket model.

I've done it both ways... the key is that the strips aren't taking a bath in the grease...

I have a cast iron griddle too...with raised beams... so strips across those allow grease about 1/2" separation.

With air fryer I don't even need a paper towel on plate... ready to eat.

The more I use my commercial handheld radios, the more I kind of dislike my amateur handhelds. Of course the commercial radios don't have the amateur friendly features, but they just work really well with very little (if any) flakiness. And they are rugged. And yes, you pay for it.

I'll never abandon my amateur handhelds, but sometimes I wish they were just better.

Wondering if you have any links to begin understanding what is available now. It's been 30 years since last models I worked with. I know features have been added.

Have they improved speakers, squelch, microphone?

Channels... yes. 16 is primary. 13 in certain areas. High numbers generally where folks go after contact is made, to converse.

Pueblo Mexico... 7000 foot elevation had big storm on 5/24/2024.

Based on that map Ryan showed...Indy pretty much bad place to be - if it holds up.

I have extended family in Indy Metro... so I'll be watching.

They've had to delay before.

This year was probably going to be packed... based on other recent large group events vs. Recent prior years.

I know someone that is shoulders deep in that world... and with respect to the balance of their life they are not dumb.

Cults sucked them in and their circle keeps them there.

They argue against the value of science -- laughing when I describe science is why, until recently, they had no polio, and other diseases. And describes climate change warnings as "sky is falling" memes.

Imagine two identical with mainstream users. Same number of users, same connectedness of the social graph, same demographics etc.

Social network A only has an algorithmic feed. Social network B only has a chronological people-I-follow feed.

What would the usage numbers look like in comparison? Numbers of posts, numbers of likes/replies/boosts, growth trajectory, etc?

I would expect somebody has done some research on this. Anybody know of any public results?

When we did road trips in the 90's... it seemed that the point we'd get hungry - the only thing quickly available were chain burger joints.

In the 2000's... we made a pact that we would skip those and find the local "mom & pop" small sit down restaurants. Occasional chain sit downs... but really we focused on the small business.

Driving life is better - and we have found some interesting out of the way places.

Essentially - get away from the cloverleaf!

Yes. "House salads" - not so great.

One thing to consider - so many grocers now have quite decent ready-made salads... so jumping into a grocery store is actually a food stop option.
