Rejuvenation of cast iron pans. 2 more to go after these 2. Stored for >10 yrs

5" is passed down from Wife's Grandmother, to Mom, to her. This pan was "very rough"... years of buildup, especially on sides.

6" is her Mom's. Was reasonably clean... a little buildup.

LOTS OF Scrubbing. Soaking with vinegar. The major buildup had to be wirebrushed.

The 2 pictures on grill are after 1st & 3rd seasonings.

Tomorrow - I will do two more seasonings - upside-down. Then put them in cabinet for usage.

5" on top - 5" on bottom (this was a landscape picture - so if you view that way - 5" on left...) This is after 3rd seasoning.
Shows major crusty build up on pan sides and some on the bottom. This is the 5 inch pan.

Disaster ?

Getting around to watching Twin Peaks: The Return (so-called season 3).

Carrying on the wackiness of season 2.

I never liked season 2.

So likely won't make it very far into these episodes.

Folks talk about the two earthquake zones: Pacific Northwest and California...

I find the New Madrid quake to be the the one that is going to be "the one"... so many people in what will be the affected zone.

The last big one here was 212 years ago. Reversed the Mississippi.

So much has changed in the surrounding States - and all the houses & buildings not built to earthquake zone standards.

Lots of information - both written and video available. Start here:

So far... just another zombie movie.

Far cry from Carrie and Shining and Shawshank...

Well... this is disappointing.

Another lander that tipped over.

Each time I read / hear about these results - I think: Wow. Apollo was some scientific miracle. Slide rules. Very limited processors & switching.

If humans have lost the skills in 50-60 years... no wonder we can't figure out how humans of yore built the pyramids and more.

Northern Exposure became available on Prime...

I didn't really watch it when it was originally on TV. Too many other life activities going on.

I'm finding it to be quite funny.

And a lot of funny oddities.

Watching some of the after-tornado news videos...

Reporter standing in front of a business sign (that is out of view and above her head) - notes that she is near the "Su NOC o" station.

You might know it as the gas station known back in the day for selling 100 octane racing gas... normally pronounced as: Sun O co

As someone that learned by "sounding it out"... I get it... but this one, had me wondering until the camera panned up.

People don't know things... until they know things.

Maybe there is a valid reason for this... photo or artists?

But my mind says: why. WHY. Would I want a feed only based on the colors in the videos???

I watch videos for the content. Sure. The creators may have spent time color correcting- but that's not why I'm watching.

I know that a fair amount of sci-fi movies couldn't be made without CGI...

But I have more respect and prefer movies which have less to no CGI... you know... actors, stunt people, model builders, etc.

Realism is only possible with real people doing the physical work.

Too many CGI movies lack good story and so they pump up volume and CGI trying to wow you.

I find I am very much "Less Wow'd" - each time I see these "over-the-top" movies.

FYI for the handy.

I just took apart the motor on one of our box fans that up and died last week.

It was about 3 years old (replaced another that went about 5 years). I grudgingly tossed that one. ☹️

This one I cleaned and oiled the bearings - which manual said it was not needed. About 45 minutes to complete.

Fan works like new.

Saved ~$40 AND no landfill bonus.

Thank you to free knowledge on YouTube.

I enjoy musicians that take the time to provide new ways to look at music - yes, it is a 'cover' - however, it is done in a whole new style.

For example - the several "bands" (?) doing modern songs in the style of Middle Age Mistrals.

I continue to be amazed how non-maskers get belligerent that someone else is in a mask.

The first thing out of their mouth is: it doesn't work. Look at it. Can you see through it. How can you eat... aren't you worried you'll catch the rona right then...?

Next thing you know they go politics and flat-earther.

They are so afraid they are making bad decisions, that they cannot allow others to just live without bringing them down, too.

You know how SpaceX wants to land Starship vertically on the Moon or Mars? Yes, it does, iIf you did not know that.

Assuming all went well and they are ready to re-launch.

Now picture what the Launch pad, in TX looked like after Starship launched the first time.

Now picture the hole on the Moon or Mars that will be dug on that relaunch. Granted, not as many engines - but also not as high off the surface and also not concrete.

I hope those folks have really considered it enough.
