Incredible drone footage of the Greenfield, IA tornado courtesy of Reed Timmer.

The drone was able to orbit through the outer circulation of the tornado capturing some of the best views I've ever seen of a multi-vortex tornado.

There's a lot that can be learned from this type of close-range footage. Includes a brief clip around 2:15 of a wind turbine being taken down by the outer wind field.

Interesting article about Naples IT and the sleeping monster beneath it--a volcanic caldera so large it's difficult to photograph it standing on the Earth because Naples Bay and the city are only part of it.

It's not the same type of magma & gas mix as say the volcanoes in Iceland or Hawaii. They won't get a lot of warning if that caldera abruptly moves. #Volcano

When my mobile data plan runs out of gigabytes, I still get connection, but throttled to 128KB/sec, which really makes me appreciate:

  • the difference between lean-and-mean webpages and modern monsters
  • the alt texts TOO MANY OF YOU FORGET TO ATTACH TO YOUR MEDIA

New puppy who dis?

We added a beagle mix rescue puppy to our family yesterday (someone left 6 puppies on the side of a road in a box marked “free puppies” 😢) and he’s a sweet guy.

Please help out dog rescues/rescue dogs if you can. So many need help. And excuse me if I’m here a lot less for awhile.
