@seachanger Yeah, good point. In the current market where buyers have to compete with each other it's not great. FHA loans require more in depth home appraisals, etc. and sellers often choose the easier sale (cash buyers, or conventional loans).
The whole housing system (if you can even call it that) is such a clusterfuck in this country. :/
to point oh or not to point oh, that is the question... that I'm pondering about the #bikefriday and its fenders, which say they like tires up to 2.1, or I should get some more fenders (if you need some 20in fenders I might have some extras after I figure this out.) schwalbe big apple.
icymi I’d like to establish a new church, The 10,000 Year Church of Love and Space. Book-based religions have real staying power, so it makes sense to create one with the goal of maintaining a 10,000 year old technologically advanced civilization so that we can learn to explore space and actually eventually see what’s out there. Obviously to last this long we will have to reorient around healing and sustaining the miracle of our life-giving planet Earth, so that’s the central theme of our church
@seachanger the problem with religion is it will quickly get corrupted by those in power. Look at Christianity. A dude comes along and says "hey wouldn't it be cool if we were all nice to each other?" and a few centuries later they're torturing people for not believing in it the right way.
woke up thinking it’s time to get Hollywood making big immersive iMax movies about life after a real green new deal. show us Scarlett Johansson boarding a gorgeous train in Seattle and stepping off in LA hours later! give us steamy intersectional rom coms in lush, electrified cities! I want Pedro pascal & his kid traversing an eco-utopian continent via e-bike on rails to trail corridors through vibrant towns, wild forests, and regenerative farms!
@greendesignek i hate that he or Rene are likely going to be our next mayor. I hate it so much. I'm not sure I could stomach 4 more years of them destroying this city.
@enobacon@greendesignek i dunno if voting strategy is gonna mean that much for mayor when we have such a lack of quality candidates. Plus Portland "centrists" or "moderates" (or whatever the conservatives are calling themselves these days so they don't feel bad) seem to love Gonzalez and Mapps.
