Suddenly the Englandshire press are all about free speech when it comes to Scottish law. Worries about police over reach but never a peep when the Tories effectively ban protest and grant police sweeping powers in Engerland. Fucking wankers.

I had to go and look what the new law forbids that wasn't already covered by existing legislation and it's:
intersex people are now protected: good.
old people are now protected: good.
there's a tool against stochastic terrorism, in the provision against "stirring up hatred": good on balance, we'll have to see how it's used. I suspect what the right wing press hate about that part is some of their venomous bullying and scaremongering would be limited by it.
