I also picked up the Battlefront Classic Collection today. Once it unlocks I'll be sure to give it a try. I already know I love Battlefront 2 and if this version has real controller support it could be permanently installed on my deck.

If the controller support sucks I'll refund it and just emulate the PS2 version on the Deck.

the first rule of making games (and programming in general) is to downscope your ambitions by a factor of five, make a prototype, then divide that design again by a factor of three, and you'll have a project that's manageable and can be done in a reasonable time frame

and then there's projects like these, which began with "i wanna make an adventure game/art experience where a player connects to a bbs in a distant land". i called it Shima no Shima.

which meant, of course, that i had to simulate a BBS. and then simulate a software modem so the player could connect to it. and then design a filesystem so the player could download files. and then .. naturally design an operating system to manage the files.... 😬

two years later... i ended up with... a macintosh with a simplified macpaint and its own graphical terminal client 🤣

as of today, pretty much anything can be dragged and dropped, and it even has its own resource fork-like data so it understands which applications can run which data files.

edit: a few people have asked - this is made in Adventure Game Studio/AGS Script. 😅

Yeah, having been absorbed into Oblivion for quite a few days, then trying Fallout 3 and then going back to Oblivion I can confidently say that Elder Scrolls games are the superior Bethesda products for me.

Oblivion was the last one I hadn’t tried and I think it’s becoming my favorite. Spellcasting took some getting used to on controller but it’s satisfying.

Been playing a lot of Diablo 2 since it was on sale for PC a bit ago. It’s still a great game, but I really appreciate more modern games having real build diversity instead of every paladin guide saying to spam Blessed Hammer to 75.

Last night I found an Ancestral Raiment of the Infinite in Diablo 4, which completes my Chain Lightning Sorc build, kicking me from "Mid-Endgame" level to "Full-Endgame" level. Still having a lot of fun in the current season.

Diablo IV has reached the point of being good but there are two features it needs IMO:

1. Customizable Loot Filter so I don’t have to go down every item affix and compare manually.
2. Offline mode because having other players in the world means absolutely nothing to me and nearly every time I die it’s because of the awful network lag.

I know Offline mode will never happen but it needs to happen. Every time I die to lag I get closer to playing Diablo 1 or 2 again instead.
