The upside of having to wear a uniform to work is not worrying about having a “good” outfit for the office. We all wear the same shit every day and it’s great. When I am at home or when I go out, I worry about comfort more than style.
Didn’t the first pilgrims who came to what is now the USA do it because they wanted to practice their specific flavor of Christianity and England was like “nah bro, that’s crazy”? Or did my teachers in school lie to me? I know the country itself wasn’t founded on religion.
Yeah, the timeline between Columbus and the Constitution was huge. I know that a lot of the founding fathers were deists as well, which is fascinating. I wish some of their visions for the country were still a thing.
Same. But I’m also for gun control as well. Like, don’t ban them outright, just make them a whole hell of a lot harder to get. Like really hard. I live in an area that has bobcats, bears, and the occasional mountain lion. I own a pistol to protect myself and my critters (a flock of ducks and two dogs) in case of an attack. I don’t want to use it and it won’t kill a big predator like a bear or mountain lion, but I only want it to scare the animals off if they get too close. It hasn’t left the locked drawer I keep it in since I bought my house in 2022. I’m hoping it’ll never have to come out.
I was a master at getting free food in college. I’d just walk into events, sometimes ones I wasn’t invited to, grab food, and leave. Oftentimes my college wouldn’t post bouncers at every entrance to the buildings, so getting into private stuff was ridiculously easy.
There was also a time where going to the career fair would get me extra credit for a class. You had to pay to get in, though. I just walked in the side door, got the proof that I was there, took some food they were serving, and left.
You can do so much if you act like you belong.
10/10 would recommend doing this as much as possible.
I used to do this, and so did my mom. About a year ago I started spam calling my mom as soon as my alarm goes off. It makes sure that we both stay awake and get up on time, and we can bullshit while we get ready for work. It’s honestly really nice.
Being seriously evaluated for Sjogren’s Syndrome currently. Went to a rheumatologist for joint pain and found out that my chronic eye pain and dry eyes is a big indicator of a problem. I thought it is because my eyesight is shit and I look at screens constantly
Not yet. But my eyes are definitely getting worse in regards to the dryness and pain. I thought it was just eye strain, but the doctor was like, “no. There’s definitely something wrong with you.”
I have loads of symptoms that indicate auto-immune disease. My thyroid is also larger than it should be, which has the doctor concerned. She could physically feel how big it is.
Had an insurance job once where I’d get to my car after clocking out and just cry. It was the only job that I quit without notice, and man did that feel good.

Fun fact: female ducks can gain male traits after their ovaries die later in life. My female mallard is going through duck menopause currently. She got partial male coloring and one of her tail feathers curled. She also acts more like a drake now. She’s 5, so she’s getting up there in age.
